Oil prices world wide is based on the US dollar. Every time the Fed cuts the interest rate the dollar becomes weaker causing the oil prices to go up.

HUH? If Billary gets elected why move to Canada...you will be there already there.

Welcome to socialism. Vote for Hillary and that is what you'll get. So there is no need to move to Canada.

If you were going to move, move to Mexico. You will save a butt load of money on gas alone.

[QUOTE=s2krn;3187203]8 years is a LOOOOONNNNGGGG time; esp when you are talking about prices. What was a loaf of bread 8 years ago, how much was a gallon of milk, a whopper was on the dollar menu.... and so on and so on. Blaming prices on Bush is rediculous. What was the price of a gallon of gas 16 years ago?

16 years ago give or take a few months I bought my first tank of gas
I paid $0.86 gl for premium
now if we look at the numbers here i just put gas in my linc yesterday and I paid $3.34gl for reg that is nearly a 400% increase in 16 years can anyone else tell me any other product that has gone up 400% in the same time frame.
the price of a average computer has dwindled. cars have risen in price but in the 100% increase area, disgusting but not as bad. food prices have risen but definitly not 400%. you can try to blame Bush but it doesnt do any good even if those two thinly veiled communists do something to reduce the prce of gas we will pay far more in the end, they both say they want to tax the rich but what you dont hear is who they consider the rich! they consider the rich as those of us who are fourtunate enough to be in the middle class and by looking at the pictures of trucks on this site alot of us (me included) that should scare the bejesus out of all of you! now I live in AZ and I am in NO way a MccA**hole supporter far from it but given the alternative..... I seem to find myself in the same pickel as 4,8,and 12 years ago the choice of the lesser of two evils well i have come to realize that chosing the lesser of two evils is STILL CHOSING EVIL!!! It is up to evryone to say enough is enough none of these canidates are worth a hill of beans, some just scare me more than others mccain at this point scares me the least. The funny thing of it is is that it took this perfect storm of political disaster for mccain to even be considered for the republican top spot oh well sorry for the long post but the answers arnt in the election in nov. it will not change untill people in THIS country put aside there diffrences and vote in a real buisnessman NOT a polition.

All I know is the price of gas was $1.59 a gallon just Seven Years ago. (the Dollar was a lot stronger then too, and we had a Budget SURPLUS.

Demand is obviously a part of it, I don't deny that, but Demand hasn't DOUBLED in the last 7 years like a barrel of gas has...

I think I summed it up well already.

You're right SKNR, we should compare it to the LOW of 2008 to be more fair. What was that? $3.39?

Way to dodge the points in my post. 8 years ago lots of things were cheaper; 16 years ago they were even cheaper than that. I'm going to go out on a limb and say almost everything has gone up in price in the past 8 years... it's called INFLATION!!! Crazy how that works. What was your salary 8 years ago? My salary has more than doubled; nearly tripled actually. There's a reason most jobs give annual cost of living raises... stuff just gets more expensive.

Three posts really gets your point across. I know why a lot of your posts just blame Bush rather than looking at real facts... you use Wikipedia for information. There is NO WAY the salary numbers you quoted are correct. Unless that is they are using all the illegal immigrants stealing money from Social Security for their numbers. I find it hilarious that you posted that. I'm sure you believe it as well. Has your yearly income decreased in the past 10 years?

Mine has almost tripled and we all know the UAW guys are making some coin. What profession has had a decrease in pay over the past 10 years? How much more is minimum wage now than 10 years ago? Check your numbers and get back to me!
