Why we're really paying so much for fuel
At least you concede that the income of people Today is only 10-15% higher than what it was 10 years ago. (a far cry from the Double, or Triple you were implying). We haven't even adjusted the Incomes for Inflation!
I'd be very happy if the price of gas was only 10% higher than what it was back then.
My Job is done, I'm going to Bed, I've got to help contribute to the National Median Income Early tomorrow Morning...

I never said the avg income has doubled or tripled... said my income has more than doubled. My numbers have been the same; they are numbers I took from the US census bureaus website:
1998 income was around 41K
2006 income was around 47K (no info for 2007 or 2007 listed)

1998 income was 48k
2008 income is 48K
It's really simple... go back and read the posts again if you need to bone up on the numbers!

Those are the numbers clearly shown on the Graph supplied by the US Census Report. I didn't make them up. Wikipedia didn't make them up, they just showed a link to them, but whatever. If the Graph said 41, I would have Said 41,
My point would have been made Regardless.....
