I carry the el pistola, but keep it hidden, NC doesn't allow anyone under 21 to possess a handgun but oh well. My uncle is a firearms instructor and builds custom sniper rifles for Col. Chandler at Iron Brigrade Armory, so a $2000+ Remington 700 will be the next rifle invested in, something about deer hunting at 500+ yards fascinates me. But the next pistol will be a 1911 of sometype, I just love the "knockdown" of the .45.

H&K Sub Compact .40 = best carry gun of all time :smoke:

I absolutely hate any sub compact gun, the grip is always to small for my hand leaving 1-2 fingers hanging past the bottom of the grip. That makes the recoil seem ridiculous, now I do love H&K pistols they are a very nice product if you don't mind paying $700-$1000 for an out of a box gun. Personally if I was going to pay that for a carry gun it would be either a Kimber Tactical Custom II, or a Sig P229R Crimson Trace in 357SIG.

One way around this is tell them the bullets are for a carbine. or buy them at a gun show. Thats how i get all my bullets

I don't think I would go to the campus or the post office with a gun..:smoke:

I have three ar15's one configured for long range shooting, one is a "swiss army knife" with all the attachments, and one is just a plinker. I am currently building another one in .308 for hunting purposes. I have two smith and weston .44 mag revolvers, a taurus pt 92 9mm para, a savage 300 wsm with a custom thumbhole stock, a savage .308 lever action, a 870 20 ga shotgun, a 12ga 835 ultimag mossberge, and 3 different 22lr's and a 17 hmr. I love shooting and go every chance I get! P.S. great thread start!

Exactly why it serves me no use. I will be getting a shotgun this summer and it will come to MI with me to my grandparents. Now the nice thing is that I can actually check my firearms in a locked case at the police department on campus. They will keep them until I take them off campus to the range or something. A handgun would do me no good now so I will just wait till I'm 21 and then get one:thumbsup: No hurry I'm just starting to get into guns.

jmeyerholtz-

That is actually a good idea to tell them I own a carbine! If I had the handgun I would just buy the ammo for the carbine because it's the same ammo for the xd .45  Now how do I get the xd .45?

18 or over cabelas says for the .45 acp ammo!!! http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...+acp&noImage=0

So I will be home next Sunday and attending the Nation's Gun Show at the Dulles Expo Center. Anyone going to be there? I am going to look for the shotgun I want and see if I can find it at a cheaper price or maybe a pelican case at a cheaper price. If i can't then I'm going to wait till summer so I can make some money first and then get my FFL to transfer it in and buy the other stuff on MidwayUSA.com I guess.
For guys that have gone-
What did you guys think of the show?
Were there lots of things that were discounted?
Is that the best place to buy ammo?

Thanks!

Also I am working on a locking gun rack for the cieling so it is visible, but not sticking out like a sore thumb in the rear window. This way people can not access the gun if they do not know where the lock is. I know pro-gard sells some, but none of them will really work in the truck. I don't want to drill holes in the truck, so I need to figure out what to fabricate and how to mount it. I may just have to buy the pro-gard lock and bolt it to my own fabricated and painted rack? Any input is helpful!
Almost forgot the rack will be for a folding stock/pistol grip Remington 870 12ga probably:thumbsup:
