I get home today and there are 3 of the little rats running around in the big maple tree next to the garage, they then start chattering at me, which just pisses me off more. I went into the house, got the pellet gun and go back outside and the my neighbors 7 year old daughter is outside playing the her swingset which is only about 30ft from the maple tree. So I couldn't shoot the little bastards.

I did go check the trap and no action there. But then I noticed that from where the trap is you can see the dog kennel, so I think that I am going to have to move the trap so that my dog doesn't start barking at the squrrels and chase them away from the trap.

Two years ago we picked up some squirrels in my parents garage, then my brother got a speedbag for his birthday (the pear shaped bag that hangs from a board you hit) which he hung in the garage so we wouldn't have the noise in the house. Shortly after he got going on it good, the noise and vibrations it made had them diving out of the eave (it sounds like some sort of goofed up machine gun, and they had to have flown 15' before they hit the ground) and haven't been back since. It was really comical to watch, and very effective.

I CAUGHT ONE!! And it isn't very happy right now. Hopefully this is just the first of many to come, since there are alot of the little rats around here.

My fiancee got home before I got a chance to "get rid of it" (aka. shoot the little furry SOB) So I ended up taking it out to the state park and letting it go. If it does come back I am pretty sure that I will be able to tell this one from the others since it was missing ALOT of fur from its head and one paw, most of which was in the wire mesh of the trap.

I have had your problem in my old house. I put the moth ***** down the hole where they chewed thru the siding what a mistake! Not only did the squirels not like the smell neither did I. If you do this make sure you put the moth ***** where you can get them out. I tried the traps no luck. I ended up squirel hunting in my front yard with my pelet gun. There was three of them living in my house. It took me about a week to get them all. One of them thought it was smarter than me but it was wrong!

That reminds me.... rat traps might work too, because i used one once and the squirrel just ran away with a broken neck and we never found it!

ok the best way ive seen to do this is have 2 peices of wood leading up a 5 gallon bucket filled half way up with water and have some peanut butter and the squirrels fall in and drown because they cant get back out... my buddys uncle killed like 3-4 a night this way. ive always wanted to shoot a squirrel with my 12GA haha maybe a 3" slug i had a prob with those lil squirrels I think there called red squirrels. they dug holes all over so i just got my BB gun and had a party i think i killed 3-4 and then my cat killed 2. i shoved one of the dead ones down one of there holes.. to kind of scare them but it didnt work... that one just disipeered....
