coming from experience.... start saving money and give that girl one heck of a prom. you'll have all summer to buy stuff for the truck and everything. Even if it is only your junior year, we're never promised a next year... so give it all you have. She'll appriciate it and you will too in the long run.

Also, I would get the brakes and start saving for the tires. What good is a really modded out truck it you can't drive it (safely) with worn tires or bad brakes? Keep the upkeep to date on the truck and the "wants" will come.

This all coming from someone who is 21 and wishes they could have done their high school days completely different.

Thanks man, that pretty much killed my guilty conscience. It just sucks waiting 2 weeks to save up just a bit. Can't wait to grad. from college so I can get a career. I'm hoping to have my V6 F-150 along with a Mustang GT and HD F-150, lol.

Shooting for 17 in July. Also forgot to mention I'm trying to save to get my pilots license.

Edit: Buckles, pull up your post count, I'm catching up!

I skipped getting drunk, doing drugs, and doing illegal activities because I have a real job.

Yeah, every saturday and sunday I am part of the "opening" crew at wendy's. Rain or shine, sleet or snow, hurricane or tornado, I go outside, do trash, pick up the parking lot, scrub down walkways, leaf blower, etc. I bring my Zune and listen to music. Adds a good 8 hours onto my timecard tho.

Tires: P255/70R16, preferabbly Michelins. i love them and I can get a discount from my g/f's mom (owns tire store)

Are you up to doing the brakes yourself? It is always fun to get a little dirty and work on your truck yourself. Assuming the rotors are fine some decent semi-metallic pads can be had for 30-40 bucks and if you have an idea what your doing an hour tops for the job is reasonable. If the pads get too low they can really tear up the rotors and become a saftey issue. Best to resolve that first. Second if you have a connection at the tire shop dont be picky on brand. Im sure many people come in with stock rims/tires and upgrade. My local Discount Tire buys these tires/rims from the customers and sells them back. You could probably get your hands on 4 tires this way for 120-160 for all 4. Also check the classifieds here and see if anything pops up. Again this is a saftey thing and cutting corners should not even come to mind with something like that. If the mom likes you maybe she will rotate and balance for free if you give her cash to cover one of the guys hourly rates. Shouldnt be more than 10 bucks if he just installs tires.

Last.... You can post on the internet and actually use punctuation. You seem to be motivated as you are working for these things you want and since you have a GF you must be decent to be around. All those things tell me you could do better than your job. Don't sell yourself short, age doesnt mean anything. Toss out some applications, talk with friends to see if they have any openings.
