Allowed to carry on campus?

What do you guys think? I really wish I was able to carry on campus. If something like yesterday happens, I can at least defend myself and not just get shot IMO. Opinions...

I carry all the time. I don't care about their stupid no-carry rule.

It goes back to the very basic gun argument. The bad people will carry guns on campus regardless of the rules. The bad guys won't follow the rules. Kind of like the whole registering guns issue. The law abiding folks will register their guns, the bad guys won't.

How about keeping those people who have diagnosed mental illness from being able to purchase weapons. It has now come to light that this guy, much like the VT shooter, had been treated for mental illness but yet was still able to legally buy his firearms. He recently stopped taking his medication and on Saturday, was out buying new guns to add to his arsenal. There should be some type of data base check included in the background check to prevent these troubled people from obtaining these instruments of mass murder.

I believe very strongly that students should able allowed to carry on campus. many lives could have been saved in these shootings if there was a responsible student or faculty member armed. We saw this at the church in Colorado a few months ago. The lady carrying there probably saved a hundred lives.

Get caught and you lose your license to carry. Get caught in a bank or government/federal building and I think it's actually a felony. I know it sucks, but it's not worth the risk.

I don't think it would be worth it. If you get caught your done for! When I turn 21 I'm applying for a concealed permit, but that is 1 year 9 months from now Won't be any use at college since I can't have a gun, but during the summer it will be nice

In the 90's, I carried a pistol in my truck for 5 1/2 years at Tech. Since the school never asked, I never told. It is better to ask for forgiveness...rather than permission.

At MSU the law is that you have to check them in with the police department I believe. At Virginia Tech I think I can check it at the police station also

With all the wackos shooing up schools, I'd rather be the hero that shot the scumbag than the guy who let him get away... We had one guy shut down our entire campus using powdered sugar and a steak knife.

its a great idea as long as the permits and weapons dont get into the hands of ****y a-holes who flash a piece just because they can.

I am not a fan of guns. But it's really getting to the point now where small arms is somewhat necessary. Just enough power to stun, but not enough to kill. Just to get the point across to the offender.
