Can I be first to make a "Brokeback Mountain" stab at the pseudo cowboy.

I think the little guy in the biggest truck means a compensation issue is at hand, maybe?

Hey Tbird69, it slays me how you're sig says "my next truck" or whatever, where's the Toyota? You need a room with them and grope the yoda boss.

As far as towing? When you can exceed the advertised capacities of the Toyota, where's that leave you? Looking at the Super-Duty pulling 24000 LBS! That's the thing, if you need to pull more than the 150, Ford offers a 250, 350 and holy hell, a 450 even, what a concept. I personally don't think I come close to exceeding my capacity with an 18ft US Cargo flat bed steel trailer with a 4000 lb car on it, without electric brakes hooked up!!!!!! No f-n problem. Even my dad's 94 2wd 302 auto does it, and has for years. What the hell are people towing anyways?

Hey, another thing, bighersh aint saying bieng 6.5 ft tall is bad, not average is all. Who the f-ck wants to be average anything? I love running my mouth at people and bieng able to back it up. It's a good thing bieng big with the only thing short bieng a temper.

So I'm haulin *** like usual right, and I pull up to the light leading out on the highway in the left lane, right behind a new 5.7 tundra crew max 4x4 with a big Toyota symbol in the back window. There was a big rig in the right lane. Buddy in the tundra is taking his sweet old time getting up to the 65 mph highway speed. He never made it far enough to get in front of the semi. So after he finally gets around this semi and into the right lane, I go ***** to the wall as does he. There was maybe a little over 2 truck lengths between us when it began and the furthest he got on me was maybe another length till 100 then i just whistled past him. The look on his face was priceless, I managed to snap a couple pictures of him and his buddy as I cruised by....

It is a very over rated truck, 381 hp my ***. I was expecting a lot more out of it as I just have minor bolt ons (intake, exhaust, efans, 3.73s and troyer tune on 91).

You do of course realize that this is illegal in Ontario?

True, but I guess that fact only matters when the F150 can do it right?

what fact? are you arguing that an f150 won't tow it's rated capacity?

if you mean a crew cab f150 isn't rated to tow the same weight of a single-cab heavy payload package f150, yes, that is a fact--is that what you mean to say?

SSSHHHH!!! Don't tell anyone! You mean it's illegal not to have the electric brakes plugged in I take it. At the time, I only had the 4 pin plug at the time, got a 7/4 plug combo now and all set, but was in a pinch then. I did almost hit some retarded guy on a 10 speed, just down the street from the O.P.P. Nice luck I would have had, eh?

First time I used electric trailer brakes I was pulling about 8k at around 65 mph. Here in Houston we have tollways and you either stay to the left and cruise if you have EZ tag or get to the right and stop and pay if you dont. Last minute this suburban decided he didnt have EZ tag and locked his brakes up right infront of me. I told the chick I was with, were going to hit him hold on. I slammed the pedal to the flood and was amazed the truck came to a stop in what had to be under 200 FT. I still had another 20 ft before I would have hit him. I was amazed at how well the truck performed with this load under such an emergency stop. No swaying or fading, thank god Ford put some good brakes on this bad boy

Yeah, definitely not the kind of luck you need. It would/could ruin your life, as well as someone elses life.

Yes, it's illegal to not have it plugged in, or even pull a trailer at all without working brakes when you're talking about that much weight.

You wouldn't have made it if the electric brakes were buggered up on the trailer, I bet....or are you saying the brakes on the trailer weren't working?

No, im saying the electric trailer brakes completly saved my ***. I don't have aftermarket brake controller but Ford's default settings worked perfectly. The brakes on the truck carried more than their load, but I would not have made it without the trailer brakes

Gotchya. Yeah, it's a pretty heafty fine to tow a trailer that requires brakes when they're not hooked up, or simply not working. It's a $500 fine, but that would be the best case scenario. Just imagine what else could happen!

And this is why I just bought all the needed relays, a Prodigy brake controller and a 7/4 pin plug. I figure on doing some more trailering, might as well be set up properly. It's a little overkill for me, but I want to be hooked up when the time comes again.

And after seeing the fiasco with those pizza cutting p-rated Hankook's on 04's? Yeah, I've seen what results of under rated tires on trucks this size and weight. My GY Wranglers, the stock sized 265/70/17's worked flawlessly. My buddy switched his Hankook's to my old set, before I got the Silent Armor's. He reported very good results.
