x2! Everyone person ive met who drives one of those new tundras bought it for one reason: horsepower, to be able to tell everyone "i have the fastest truck." big whoopdif*ck. Use it as a truck, not a racecar.

what ive been saying all along basically. The tundra is creating a new breed of truck buyers, a breed we dont need. It is a group of people who have no idea what theyre talking about and dont know what makes a truck a truck...

EXACTLY, sorry it's a stereotype, but damn it's too easy. I don't know any YET, trying to talk my uncle out of one, but all I've seen is yuppy or geeks who know nothing about the functions. That barber shop story is a great example.

To answer the question of room in the cab, I think the huge middle console made it cumbersome for me. Like I said, even the old lady noticed it. In my truck, a reg cab with a fold down console in a 40/60 split, there is TONNES more room. Even the new trucks, it seems like they still are huge. My dad's had alot of new ones, an 06 and 07 Harley, an 07 FX4 supercab and now an 08 F-350. My brother has an 08 Harley and 08 Limited so I've experienced alot.

First off it's a Toyota. In my opinion that's more than enough reason to hate it. They are the most boring, mediocre cars on the road. Most of their engineering (I use the term loosely) is done overseas and based on another company's design. As an engineer I don't like that. It hurts my salary.

Secondly, it's uglier than a mud fence. It honestly is "throw up in your mouth" ugly. I have wondered if they teach new buyers how to jump in and put a bag on their head as part of delivery.

Add to that it is overpriced and under built and there really is not much to like.

Edit:
I forgot about the D-bag owners. The only thing they are good for is laughing at.

The OP mentioned thin materials, and it reminded me of a Tundra that was on display in the middle of a hallway at our local shopping mall. It was a limited I believe, all black and chrome and stickered for around 49k.

A couple of days later I was walking by it again and I noticed a huge dent in the upper portion of the box side. Almsot looked like someone got pushed into it or something. I started to look closer and while inspecting the dent I noticed how flimsy the whole box side was. Pretty thin metal. Just an observation.

^ You are totally right, it is thin all around. But talking about d-bag owner's, listen to them over at the tundra solutions forum. Reasons for them hating Ford is "Tundra envy"? WTF is that? They bring nothing value added to an arguement, even if the Toyota's were better, they wouldn't know why. They'd say, "cuz they are, Motor Trend truck of the year?, Hellooooo!" They don't even talk tech really because few even know how to change the oil.

I challenge people all the time to tell me what is better about their truck than mine. Mostly it's Chevy guy's, but no-one has any reason and usually some gayassed comment. I just thank God I don't know any Toyota fans, I'd make them cry.

But Blue, aren't you like 6'5" or something like that. I mean, if you are- you must admit you're not the averaged sized dude.

I'm 6'1" and some change, 320 and some change, and I thought the Tundra CrewMax was hella roomy. Especially in the backseat, sitting behind the salesman (who was taller than me- 6'5" easy) and who had the seat all the way back. It felt roomy in the front seat too.

In my 2006 SuperCrew (Which is defintely bigger than my 2001 SuperCrew was), and quite roomy up front, my knees still touch the back of the front seat, if it's all the way back (Some times my son wants me to ride on the back seat with him, and let the wife drive). I'm not understanding where the F-150 is larger on the inside than the Tundra.

There are a lot of folks who don't "need" trucks. If everyone who didn't "need" one had to get rid of it, my parking lot might have only have 6 trucks in it, instead of probably 600. Some peopel say, "Well, I can't fit into anything else." which I say is BS. If I can fit in a Mini Cooper, 90% of the US male population can too.

Most of these F-250's, F-350's, 3500 diesels, 2500's, etc. in my parking lot, shine like a new penny, and don't have a scratch on them, or in the bed. We posers just drive trucks because we like them. If we don't really need a truck, what difference does it make what level of posing we do?

Even if we did need a truck, what dumb*** (Aside from that clown on Jackass) would take a new $30K, $40K, $50K truck, so far off road that the fully boxed frame would actually be missed?

I wish I had a buck for every 5'4" guy I've seen with 33" - 35" tires, flowmasters on their F-150, with a 6" lift, and not a scratch or dent on it- that has never touched terrain rougher than the Wal-Mart parking lot. Now, that's a poser- ladies & gentlemen. Potential without execution, is called irrelevance. AKA- Posing.

Good exchange here so far. At least the board is alive...

Maybe someone should start a Titan thread.

With any truck group you have poser's, but when the majority of owners are poser's it looks bad on the truck and the marketing. Do you honestly think Ford could make a truck with a tailgate that fails under 500 lbs and get away with it like Toyota has? Thousands of Ford owners would have figure this flaw out in the first week of it's release. Dont you find it funny it took the Tundra solutions forum 6 months to figure out the tailgates were crap? That tell's you right there the majority of these owners don't even use these trucks as trucks

Here we go again. Keep spouting from the mouth. When have I ever took a cheap shot at the F150? And while you at it, try and find where I sing the praises of the competition. ( maybe the 09 Dodge because it looks good in my book ) aka sticking up for a product.

Why ruin a good thing and actually post something that holds any truth?

Your definition is partly correct. But hey, what am I to question your logic, seeing you have posted "0" proof to back up any claims you have made towards me.

Keep graspin'!

6'5" is NOT uncommon. Thats an average height for tall people. Trucks should be made to fit tall people, what else are they supposed to drive?

also, to the guy who said somethin about them not being able to change their own oil, 100% correct my friend. Ive seen dozens and dozens of threads on Tundrasolutions about "HOW TO CHANGE OIL IN 07+ TUNDRA" or "just got my oil changed for first time blah blah" "i want to change my own oil, how do i do it" "im worried about changing the oil for the first time i nthe tundra" blah blah blah. Like i said, a new breed...
