It might sound callous but that's a tough lesson to learn.
Sorry shine I would agree... The dog snapped once if it had been attacking the kid then I would put the dog down...

About 25 years ago my sister was attacked by a bull dog.. I was going out to play with my sister I was 7 and she was almost 2 we shared a fence with the guy next door and my sister was by the fence "playing" with Barney (the bull dog)
the dog somehow got out and was on top of her biting and scratching at her almost ripping her nose off it took over 300 stitches to get her back together again long story short ...my sister should not have been out side alone (mom's fault) the dog should have not gotten out (owners fault) my dad came home and killed the dog in front of the police with a .357 ...yes he went to jail right away and paid a big fine and spent the weekend in jail ...but the dog never attacked anyone again.......

Yes I ripped the media. Yes I did not come straight out and place the blame at the mothers feet. However.....I did NOT absolve her of blame ether. Ripping the media and the blame for the incident are two totally separate things, hence my two totally separate posts. I do not see where you draw the connection.

What I did say at the very start....was that the kid's actions caused the results. I was actually absolving the dog of responsibility. Now...the training of the dog and the mothers handling of the situation and the raising of the child are something else entirely. That is NOT backtracking, I just simply went on one tangent and you took that to mean what you thought it should mean.

Shines; you just got .

I admit; I'd have a hard time getting rid of the dog based on the info given, but in the same breath, I can't really make that call without at least seeing what happened, or an accurate description of how the dog and child were interacting.

And you make assumptions on whether or not people have kids and/or parenting experience that might or might not be true.

Call me in ten years when you realize the error in what you have stated...

I used to think like you. Its not your fault that you're a young college kid.

2 year old's dont ****ing listen, trust me. Yes they can learn, but learning the behavior traits of an animial and knowing when do draw the line is out of its ability. The kid didn't know better, it was the mothers fault... and the dog is too aggressive to be around young children. Thats it, end of story

I called you "young", and a "college kid". Both are true, its a fact. All that I am saying it that you do not have enough life experience. You getting bent out of shape is testament to that. You read a goofy government article, and you take it as fact. If you do not have kids, then you don't understand. If you still disagree, then you REALLY don't get it. I can't change your mind, you just have to grow up. You don't see me on this forum asking advice on getting into a girls pants that already has a boyfriend. Why? Because I have been married nine years, and I am way past that.

That particular breed of dog and others like a Pit Bull that are known to have a potenially bad disposition should not be around small children.

I see now why you are so irritated, you must be in the dog house.
