Fellas I dont know if you guys remember this topic

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ight=pmason718

but my girlfriend needs a car and we're going to the dealer today to look at the focus. They're offering $3000 cash back plus $500 cash back simply b/c she recently graduated from college. I would like to know what do you think is a good otd price. I know it depends on what we package but I was hoping you guys could give us a ball park figure thanks.

We own a Focus. DON'T DO IT!!! I HATE that car... Too small..

Bump up to a Fusion, or a V-6 Mustang...

I think the new ones are pretty sweet looking. I hope they have improved them some on the inside and the ride quality.

Don't buy new. Especially a new Focus. The value on that thing will drop like a rock in one year. Buy a nice used ride and pocket the change.

I bought a Focus on D-plan back in early 2003. With D-plan, plus a $1500 rebate, I got out the door at around $13K or so. One year and 21,000 miles later when I went to trade it in, the POS Blue Booked at around $7200. That's crazy for a one year old car. I'd recommend no one ever buys one of those things new just based on that.

The inside looks nice and the ride quality was upgraded using some type of Euro suspension

It'll still depreciate scary fast and be worth about half if not less than half of what you're gonna buy it for.

I feel you. She's not looking to resale the car. She needs the car to commute back and forth to work. I think no matter what you purchase, esp cars, the value drops once you leave the lot.

I only see a $1500 rebate from Ford on the Focus right now, not including the college student discount. A base model S invoice is $13,734.You will be around $12000 before TTL.

Whatever you do, do NOT let them know, in any manner, that you "need" to make this happen today. They will know your desperation and you will leave with a rectal opening large enough to carry the car home with.

I would highly suggest you get an 07. Do not get an 08. Check the inventories on Ford dot com of remaining 07s. Find one you like. Go to edmunds dot com and format a car exactly like it. Find the invoice price. On a left over 07 take a grand off the invoice price, then take 3000 off of that and another 500 off that. Right now those cars are costing them money to sit on their lots. Your biting into their holdback won't hurt them.
