but my girlfriend needs a car and we're going to the dealer today to look at the focus. They're offering $3000 cash back plus $500 cash back simply b/c she recently graduated from college. I would like to know what do you think is a good otd price. I know it depends on what we package but I was hoping you guys could give us a ball park figure thanks.

Don't buy new. Especially a new Focus. The value on that thing will drop like a rock in one year. Buy a nice used ride and pocket the change.
I bought a Focus on D-plan back in early 2003. With D-plan, plus a $1500 rebate, I got out the door at around $13K or so. One year and 21,000 miles later when I went to trade it in, the POS Blue Booked at around $7200. That's crazy for a one year old car. I'd recommend no one ever buys one of those things new just based on that.

Your correct. Its $3000 on the 07, Im sorry. She is looking at the 2008 so $1500 will be correct.

I would highly suggest you get an 07. Do not get an 08. Check the inventories on Ford dot com of remaining 07s. Find one you like. Go to edmunds dot com and format a car exactly like it. Find the invoice price. On a left over 07 take a grand off the invoice price, then take 3000 off of that and another 500 off that. Right now those cars are costing them money to sit on their lots. Your biting into their holdback won't hurt them.
