I think this sight is extremely informative and entertaining period. I am hooked!!

I suppose if you live here and read flippin' everything that is posted then you have a lot of time on your hands (not that there's anything wrong with that) and yeah, you would think "all the questions are the same". But in retrospect when you first discovered f150forums, were you as educated on your truck as you are now? Probably not. All my mods have been influenced from members trucks and info from this sight. When people ask me or compliment me on my truck, I make sure to tell them about this forum and what it's all about. My point is if you have a interest in your Ford and you find your way to this forum, then you should post away and read, you'll learn a lot about your ride and you'll have fun doing it.

Pardon my ignorance, what is a noob?

First and foremost, stupidity is not an excuse.

Secondly, now that several of you have flown off of the handle for various reasons, let the moderator that set the ban speak up and defend his actions...

This is a site dedicated to F-Series trucks... always has been, always will be. It's really that simple. The 'General Discussion' forum has always been a pretty 'loose' and 'easy going' forum where everything under the sun has been discussed. One constant that hasn't changed -- across all of the forums here -- is that we don't allow pornography and the site remains, generally, as a PG-13 establishment.

Dave walked way over the line. For one, the material that he was distributing was illegal. For such 'material' to be distributed, both parties have to be consenting to it being distributed. Secondly, by it not being a 'consenting' type of scenario, it lands f150online as a potential contributing party to such an illegal act which, in turn, could potentially cause problems that reach far beyond what some are viewing as an unnecessary ban.

I'm not asking for you to like my decision but, I am TELLING you that the decision was made BY ME; I'd make the same decision again in a heartbeat if it presented itself.

The reason that a MONTH was issued as the time frame was because this is strike #2. I'm pretty lenient for the most part when it comes to stuff here at the site but, what I don't like to do is consistently deal with the same folks over and over.

Which brings me to my next point... Mattineer. Speaking directly toward Quintin -- yes, the system is flawed there. There are extenuating circumstances that keep us from totally taking care of him. I won't go in to all of that but, trust me, if we could, it would've already happened. The best thing that you, and everyone else, as members of the site can do is let us know when he pops back up and what user name he's using this week. We *do* depend on members to police themselves to a certain extent because, trust me, we don't read every post on the site nor do we see every person who joins.

We depend on the members of our site to utilize a great deal of common sense. Lots of the time, that gets tossed to the wayside and then, when a thread is snubbed or someone looses their f150online.com membership card, people get in a tizzy. This is obviously what happened here.

We've managed to become a top site within the F-Series world by running the ship in a pretty tip-top manner. Most appreciate what goes on here; they appreciate the people and the help that they offer; and they loathe attitudes of the anarchists that insist on rocking the boat. A very small minority will raise their voices when a decision is made that they disagree with and another small minority will make rash statements and tear up and run away. It's those who utilize a very common sense approach to communications that will be heard...

All of you know how to contact the folks who make the decisions here and all of you can communicate. I would've liked to have received a quick email or something of that manner to express your disagreement with the decision but, if this is the manner in which you choose to express it - so be it. It's done. That's fine. No hard feelings. Again though, I stand by it... it will be enforced... and there will be little left in the form of stray when it comes to this subject matter. It's very black and white in my book...

Feel free to post... email... or PM me if you need something.

Thank you Rockpick. After reading your post, the banning can only be viewed as the proper action. I did not PM you because I wanted everyone to read my response. I posted a "Free Dave" thread earlier today, and see the error in my actions. After reading your words, I fully concur with your action. Not to imply that my concurring has any weight, or matters in any shape or form with what you did.

Thanks for your post, Shine. While I'm not asking anyone to concur with my opinion, I do appreciate what you've said. The point of my post was to explain the reasoning, my rationale, the history (to support the length), and stand the ground. That's all...

Opinions are easy to draw and can be drawn in different directions when passion is a key factor playing into that very opinion. One thing is for sure, we all are passionate about some things and can let it get in the way -- I'm the exact same way.

Like I said earlier, there are no hard feelings with regards to what has been said here at f150online.com by several. Opinions are expected and, frankly, encouraged -- it's the American way.

One thing is still a constant -- we're a PG-13 establishment. There is liability that is extended by individuals utilizing this free service (and it exists at every other message board as well). When you're working with a trademarked name that is owned by a mega-company, you have to be careful about the ice that is under you at all times. Naturally, in our litigious society, there's always someone looking to tag you for no apparent reason -- just look at Ford Parts Network (now known as Fast Parts Network due to a C&D letter)...

Even though we're not a part of Ford Motor Company, we do promote the brand and, as such, we are in the limelight and have to adhere and promote a positive atmosphere -- that protects all entities (IB, FoMo, etc).

Sure, that's a total 'business' response but, this site is a business...

Good job, RP. I speak for myself, but I am positive most of us here appreciate what you do. Thanks.

Just a quick point how is okay for paparazzi to take pictures of celeb's and then sell them without their approval??

As long as he took the picture with the other person orignally okay with it they can't say anything (no spy cams). How do you think sex tapes are sold?

I'm not too sure to be honest. I'm not in that business. I'm not an attorney but, as part of the management team here at the site, we have to be aware that a target can and is on our back at all time. Risk divestiture and avoidance is a very simple way to keep off of the radar.

The bottom line is that f150online.com isn't to be used for the distribution of illicit, illegal, or adult material. Period.

Shiny,

I love that reply man,

If you would kindly cut and paste that, head over to the religious threads, and paste that into all your replies to me, it will make perfect sense.

Sorry man, I couldn't resist.
