I have a standing rule with my Mustang and my F-150 -- I don't calculate fuel economy because I don't want the realization of how terrible it really is to detract from my enjoyment of the vehicles! All I want to do when I drive them is hear the beautiful sound of my Magnaflows, blissfully unaware that I'm sucking fuel like an SOB........

That being said, I have gone through my first half tank of gas in the Mustang so fast that it scares me!

if you get 32-30k for your truck and have atleast 15-20 to put down....
go get a 07 shelby GT 500, they only run about 50-60k

with almost 500 HP and 440 ft lbs of tourque , i'd say its quick ...

Don't you have the message center that displays MPG?

I don't know, as I haven't even opened the owners manual yet -- it's still in the shrink wrap! Now you may find this hard to believe, but all I can say is that someday, when you have a 2-year-old kid, you understand perfectly.......

It's sure not like the old days when I would get a new vehicle and spend untold hours just sitting there getting to know the car -- oh to be so carefree again..........

30 thump.

the G8 is using the Holden Commador body (Australia) just like the GTO used the Holden Monaro.

it has 6.0L 361 HP its 4 door, and has paddle shift. pretty nice i must say.

and starts at 29 and only goes up to like 32-35.

Yeah... rub it in...

If my Mom still had it... in the condition she had it in... I dunno... I'd be very happy to drive it.

Oh, and my mom learned to drive stick with it!

I wish I could learn how to drive stick on a 'Vette...

But I learned on a V6 F150... ---Much better than learning on a Honda!---

Id go with the Mustang GT or even the GTO over all those imports. The GTO was kind of a joke, but its still better than any import.
I wouldnt be too confident in the dependability of any GM product, but Id rathar be fixing a GM product all the time than to be driving an import.

nnothing wrong with imports....only the wanna be's and ricers/

but if you got the right car like the ones i mentioned, then its nothing. the infiniti is really nice and the 35 is a little underpowered fromt he stang but is a V6. and the 37 is more power then the stang and is still a V6.

the LS2 engine is very dependable...which is in the GTO. people say the GTO was a joke but i love how it looks, and is not bad inside either.

I had a '04 GTO....very nice car. The interior is extremely nice - fully loaded. The only option available on the GTO is auto or manual, that's it. It was really fast stock, '04s had the LS1 w/ 350hp, then I dropped a supercharger on it It screamed after that.

You should easily be able to get a low mileage '06 for 20K.

tjhanks copenhagen....mind telling me more about your GTO....anything you disliked about it....what kind of gas mileage you were seeing with and/or without the supercharger.

i plan to turbo/twin turbo the GTO if i get it.

yea i know the 04's had the LS1 and 05-06's had the LS2

Dude pat do the G8. It's the closest thing to a holden coming to America you'll ever get, that's because it is a rebadged holden! if i could afford a g8 and was in the position to get a car that would be top of my list.

DO IT!.
