Get a '08 F450 SD with the 6.4l TTD with an Xtra long bed, dually, 4 door cab, 200"+ wheel base... you'll be king of the college. While you are at it, get a triple axle trailer, and put a nice big BlawKnox asphalt paver on the back. Make sure you take up like 30 parking spaces, and if someone gets in your way, just pave over their little dinky 4 wheel car with your paver.

On the lighter, more realistic side of things... like reality... I think a Mustang GT or a possibly a Ford Fusion might be a viable option for you. Or you could get a small truck, like a Ranger... those things get decent gas mileage, especially with the 3.0l v6 and the 5 speed.

Just some more options.

if you want a small fast car with power and dont mind an import, get the Subaru WRX STi. Thing friggin HAULS turbocharged engine with 300 hp stock, all wheel drive so it grips the road really well and can corner fast too. My friend has one and he can take some turns way faster then should be possible, scares the crap outa me. He loves knowing he can roll up next to any modern BMW or Mercedes sedan and smoke it at a light. It will destroy that infinity.

I would say you would definitely need more of a beater than a nice Infiniti. As alluded to before, college campus parking lots are hell on a car's body. I'd recommend picking up a 3.5L Altima or Maxima. Great looking car, great performance, easy on the mileage, and you won't be heartbroken beating up a nice Mustang or Infiniti in the parking lots.

But this coming from a guy who was fortunate enough in college to live a block from my department's building. Just something to think about.

I'd say go with a beater honda accord/civic. Can't seem to kick the bucket. You'll be getting 20+ mpg and still have a zippy little car. Wanna get something more quick? I'd suggest the subaru as mentioned.

Basically you need to decide how nice of car you want to go, realizing that anyone and everyone can and will molest the chit outta your car. Happens to almost everyone. You'll come outta class one afternoon to see a nice dent where someone doored ya

Save your cash for 4 years in teh bank

I was able to get $30,000 for my truck from a dealership!

I'd get something that you don't care if it gets beat up. That car will look like hell after your first year. You should've seen some the dents in my sisters truck after her first year, and that truck didn't have a dent or scratch on it.

As for the car, I'd suggest something in the Mazda line (I drove a Mazda 6 rental for awhile, very nice & quick). They're every bit as good as a Honda, better than a Toyota and cheaper than both to boot. Plus it's still a Ford.

im going to school in the area where my bro went and parking right next to where he did....there was never a problem in that lot...the spaces are big, secure parking garage too.

my bro drove a land rover so it wasnt like he had a bad vehicle. so i dont mind taking a nicer car there.
