Tractor Plows
I think according to Kohler, my engine is 40 ft/lbs of torque at 3,000 rpms and then you get the torque multiplication out of the hydro tranny... that is a lot.
I think it is funny that people are comparing tractors made by the same company. MTD makes both the Cub Cadet 1000 series and the Deere L 1xx series 42" and some 46" models. Paint job and a few features are the only differences. Both use the similar Kohler single and twin motors, hydro gear boxes, cast iron front end etc. The Cub LT1045 is almost identical to my Deere L111. The L110 is a close match to the 1042, same Kohler engine. Minor changes due to OEM agreements. Deere also uses B & S on some models.
If you get a chance park them side by side.

And doesn't take anywhere close to that with wheels and bearings to move it. Probably 5 ft lbs to move the mower, the rest can all be applied to work.
Before I got my Deere X-595 Diesel, I had a old Power King 1986, with a 2 cyl cast Iron Kohler, that was my Dads, that thing still runs to this day, & has ***** of power............Kohler makes one heck of a durable engine!....
I like my Kohler engine... never has given me a problem... and it's got all the power in the world and more.
The transmission is made by Sauer-Danfoss which is co-owned by Sundstrand, which are leaders in Aerospace technology that do outsourcing to Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grummen... which from all of the notes I read online, a lot of people say that it is a heavy duty transmission... I wish I knew which model it was on Sauer-Danfoss' website...

Well, I plowed more snow with it... cuts it like butter.
I moved those snow piles I made yesterday along with adding more snow to the piles. I pushed a 8ft long by 2 1/2 ft tall pile of frozen snow like 20 feet.
This tractor is sick. I'll get some pictures tomorrow.

But here are some more pictures... this thing is like the greatest machine in the world for me... it is insane what it can do for it's size...

That snow pile is all of the snow I had in that whole section of lawn... it just plows right through chunks of ice and nothing stops it.

I went through some snow drifts that were about 2 feet. Took me like 2 or 3 passes... but the tractor just pushed it. It's like child's play for the tractor.
If you notice those new pictures, and compare them to the first, I originally had the snow pile on the left hand side of the shed, I moved it to the back of the shed. Yes, it took me only about 6 big passes to move about 1 1/2 tons of snow.
Speaking of the heat off the engine... during the summer, it gets HOT... like VERY HOT. When mowing the lawn during the summer when it is 90F out, it makes it feel like 125F. NO lie.
