Take the metal covers off the engine and make sure all cooling fins are clear.
Not only do they act as dissipating the heat from the engine but they also are air passages. If some are plugged with dead grass from mowing, then it won't cool as well for one, for two it could shove more air from the flywheel fan back towards the rear of the engine, towards you. On my craftsman with I/C non pressurized engine, I feel some slight heat on my feet, mostly my left foot, but most of it is coming from the front, it's the exhaust blowing back on me.

But here are some more pictures... this thing is like the greatest machine in the world for me... it is insane what it can do for it's size...

That snow pile is all of the snow I had in that whole section of lawn... it just plows right through chunks of ice and nothing stops it.
