Craziest cop video! I’ve seen in a while!

My point is if the cop thinks he is in a high risk situation, you might want to consider his state of mind before exercising whatever Constitutional Rights you might have to be disrespectful.

Also, as I mentioned before, it helps to keep the context in mind. Middle of the night at a commuter stop. Not many legitimate reasons for a young man to be pulling in there then, so it's suspicious. Suspicious behavior is going to set the cop on edge before he talks to you.

That Officer is wrong, plain and simple. I do believe that this punk / kid was also looking for exactly what he got though. Who else mounts a camera on a tri-pod between the seats. I wonder how many other times he was stopped before a Officer fell into his trap and over stepped. That does not justify the Officers actions though.
Robocop was 100% in the wrong here and there is no excuse for theatening this kid with jail time and fabricated charges. Why shouldn't the kid carry a camera especially if he felt he he was "wronged" by the police in the past. Would the cop have changed his attitude and the way he handled the situation if he knew he was on tape, ABSOLUTELY! But because he wasn't aware of it, he thought he would intimidate this kid.
And why didn't he run his license instead of asking him if he had been in trouble before. Everything that the cop needed to know TO DO HIS JOB was available to him. Why does the cop need to know what the kid does for a living and why he's parked in a commuter parking lot. Running his license before he decided to make threats would have alerted the officer to any red flags he should have been aware of. If he still felt that he was in possible danger, or couldn't handle the situation based on the past events that occured in the parking lot, then at that point he should have requested back up.
Total abuse of power, I hope he does time.

What about the cops car camera? Did he not have one? I thought they all had one?
Heres what I do when I get pulled over: Pull over in a somewhat populated place, have the window down, hands at 10 & 2, dont make any radical movements and just answer the questions asked. If you do that you are setting yourself up for success most of the time.
I believe that we need to question authority but do it the right way...

On the flip side, the guy has a previous record, he says he is 21, says he owns his own business....... never says what kind or anything..... and is meeeting a "friend" at commuter parking early in the morning instead of one of thier houses..... When I was single, it was not a "frend" it was an aquantaince that I would meet in such places at that time and I did not want the aquaintance to know my name or where I lived and we would have been meeting for a "business transaction" if you know what I mean.
If the cop would have been a professional, and would have done a little actual police work, then I seriously doubt he would have had to threaten to create charges......

Officer #1: You need to honestly lose... Okay, where do you work at?
Brett: I own my own company.
Officer #1: What do you do?
Brett: I'm a painter. I'm a paint contractor and I go to school.
Officer #1: Okay. Let's say you're a painter. Okay. You were going to sit there a few minutes right?
Brett: Yeah.
Officer #1: We're gonna talk for a few seconds. Okay, then I'll let you go. If you don't have no warrants against you, I'm gonna run your name real quick. You don't have no warrants do you?
Brett: No.
Officer #1: Okay, lets say I come to your job or you come to my house, wherever you're painting and I start giving you attitude. What would you do? Would you get a little irritated about that? And probably not do a great job of painting or something? Am I right or wrong?
Brett: You're right officer.
Officer #1: No. Don't agree with me cause you want to agree with me now. Agree with me because, if I'm right, tell me if I'm wrong.
Brett: I don't want any trouble.
It is not authority you heard in that video, it was tyranny. There is a difference. The cop crossed the line, the kid push some buttons, it was a major mess. Some cops are a single wrongly spoken word away from going Sgt. Carter and that is never good nor is it right, but as one mentioned on here already, do you really want to claim your rights in such a setting?
I once got searched by an officer because he said I was in an area known for drug abuse. Well he was convinced that I was there for that reason and searched my truck while his two backup guys were with me outside of the truck. He asked me quick questions attempting to trip me up but he never did. I never popped off at him as he talked fast but was professional. His two backups were also professional. He never found any thing that he thought I had and told me that even though a gate was open that there was a cutoff time for entry into the parking lot. I apologized to him and his backups and he let me go with only a warning, but a professional one. No threats, no cussing, nothing like what you heard in this video. I was upfront and honest with him and he was to me in return. It was also nighttime and fully dark out with no lighting at all except for the three squad cars.
The old saying goes "two wrongs don't make a right" and that is still true. If you want to raise the RIGHTS flag, do it in court, not in the middle of nowhere with the only thing standing between you and who know what is the cop's last nerve that you are close to stepping on.

Don't let douche bags push you around, the government is inherently evil therefore government employees (cops) are just pawns of evil. Knowledge is power and it seems that if you have more knowledge than a cop (it seems like a rock has more knowledge and sense than this cop) you've got the power.

I agree with you entirely except for second guessing the kid...Who in their right mind pulls into an area where they see the law, and consider breaking the law? Remember, the kids 20...I did not really think he tested the cops nerve...on the other hand, the most the cop would have gotten outa me was yes sir and no sir.
I couldnt take that *****. I would have been pondering whiping out my tire iron and beating that cop like the bish he is.
I say good for the kid. ***** cops like that need to be stripped of their authority at a minimum.

All I am saying is don't give the officer the satisfaction of doing his worse to you. I am no fan of government either, but don't go pissing a bull off armed only with a fly swatter.

Also, I can see being polite, but if you know your rights a cop shouldn't shot back at you "I'm gonna arrest for whatever I feel like." (as I'm sure we all agree). If the cop pulls any chit the victim just gets to sue and take away our tax dollars.
The cop in this scenario is a bad human being.

Now, either the chief is going only by the officer's testimony which in my opinion is already iffy and unclear based on the officer's actions, or the officer's own video camera caught such a scene then you can say the kid did provoke the officer's behavior. Sounds like there was more going on that what the kid's tape showed.
