Most likely it was just an excuse to pull you over, actual reasoning could have been anything from looked suspisios to he simply wanted to.
Or..... they could be looking for a truck that looks similar to your truck or person that fits your own description that was involved in an incident or something.
They are not obligated to give a reason or an excuse, that is just being courteous while he conducts business incase he is wrong. In the process, unfortunatly for you, you lost your gambel when you placed your bet by getting the tint, and you were in the wrong place at the wrong time, you got your ticket.

I don't disagree that I was doing something wrong, I would just like my frustration to be understood. The police interrupted my night, questioned me, sent my drunk friends out on the road (officer asked if Friend A had anything to drink and whether or not Friend A said yes/no the officer told the friend to leave), and generally were obnoxious. I agree it could've been worse. But all I've learned from this experience is that I need to be sneakier about underage drinking and that I should never volunteer information to an officer.

So you are telling me that a perk of being a police officer is to get away with DUIs, speeding, running red lights, illegal passing, etc?
That's why people don't like/respect cops. Officers should be held to a HIGHER standard than regular citizens. I mean if a cop is no better than I am at obeying every detail of the law why should I inconvenience myself with staying at the speed limit or waiting another 20 days to drink in my own house?
Do Mint officials have the job perks of taking home a couple of sheets of $50's? No, because it's wrong.

I see you as a petty, whiney, little man. I bet you're the kid who sat in the corner and cried that no one would play with you at recess too. You think the world is so unfair to you for some reason, guess what it is unfair to EVERYBODY!! Get ready for a heart attack at 35 if you stress this much over everything as you do this. And get over yourself, no one expects officers to get away with things that citizens don't get away with.

I'm not an officer hater, but....that's a load crap right there.

If your car gets broken into, they make sure you call your insurance. Not much they can do.

My ex-wife was being stalked by two men one evening. They followed her all over town (Wal-Mart, Brookshires, the movie store, etc). Later that day, they were parked across the street from her house (in an empty lot). She got worried and called me.

I told her to call the cops. She said that she already did and they said they would dispatch someone. I told her to call again, I mean geeez. Anyway, 2 hours later, they drove by her house, but the guys were already gone. They didn't even stop to check on her.

My wife had her home broken into and they took EVERYTHING....even pictures. Police did nothing.

Now, I'm not hating, but .... I have to disagree with that.

Jamz,
Sorry to hear that Bs man, pretty hard to entrust those you love to a higher power that places you as last priority. All i know is in Houston and the surrounding areas we have had very good luck with police showing up quickly and doing a great job. I know sometimes the city cuts the budget so much that officers have a very slow reaction time due to just being over worked.

...and I can understand and respect that, but they didn't even stop to check on the ex after her call when they drove by....not that I care, and I know that sounds bad, but she's .... anyway.

What if something bad would have happened? Who would be at fault?

What makes anyone think they are to good to get a ticket?
X2.

You BROKE THE LAW.

Now if you were issued a ticket, pulled over, arrested, ect. for NO REASON than that's another story.

It's pretty simple folks.

If you hate cops, don't break the law, and DEFINATELY DON'T call them if you ever get robbed, mugged, beat up, raped, etc...

Go whine *** elsewhere.

But that won't happen, will it.

No. When you need help, you'll call the police, and then whine *** when they don't show up fast enough or some other stupid crap like that.

Grow up. Police for the most part are overworked and underpayed. The stress of their job far exceeds most other occupations, and they rarely get a thank you. Go for a ride along with any metro unit on a hot summer weekend during the evenings, and see how long you would last.
