these guys are great all their songs have really crazy lyrics.
This is not Country music, it's roots rock, rock-a-billy, surf guitar stuff. I hear no Countrypolitan except Rose Garden. I don't get what they're marketing, but then I'm not from the South.

The resembalance is uncanny. Hank was actually more like Kid Rock. Not really a classification, just toe tappin', head bangin' beer drinking, fist fighting, whiskey shootin', woman chasin' music.

Talk about singer's who helped change it all. Jimmie Rogers, Woody Guthrie and of course Hank Sr. Sorry, I have A Tear in My Beer!

I swear Matt got kicked by a mule or something. I mean normally we are dang near mirrors of each other but that Troy character ain't no country. I agree with what Matt is saying about how country is a bunch of genres but hick hop ain't in any country genre I can think of. It is actually a genre of hip hop or rap.

Country music has more to do with heritage, heart, and sound. You can't just sing about a farm or white lightning and be country. It must be connected, in my opinion, to its predecessors. Steel guitars, fiddles, banjos, etc are fundamental to country music. If the music can't be traced back to the Appalachians some how it ain't country to me. Sure Hank, Cash, even George Straight different from country's pure roots but they are based on them.

I can't stand the Nashville pop and many times I say it ain't country but I could call it country pop because it has some semblance of country sound and heart. Troy ain't nothing but a rapper rapping about country living. I just as soon listen to 50 cent as him as the sound is the same to me.

His old stuff isn't too bad, but his new stuff is so generic it is station changing bait, IMO.

I don't thing most of the newer country isn't that great, I find my country station presets being replaced by rock stations as the chances of finding a decent song seem alot better. Now that I have an exhaust and don't have to listen to silence the radio seems to be shut off alot more.

can't say that i'm a fan of cowboy troy (or whatever his name is) either. he just doesn't seem genuine to me. he looks like some guy who went to the mall and bought some cowboy duds. not the real mccoy. guys like john cash, willie, walyon, merle, geogre straight, geogre jones, and many many others lived the life they sing or sang about. the real deals just some ramblings from a ginuwine hick---buck

Wait a second, who the &&&& cares!?!? Music is music and if you don't like it, don't listen to it. Labels don't mean anything.

If you never listen to the radio that is true. I have to listen to rap on a country station now because Cowboy Troy is considered country.
