Redneck Can Crusher (A True Story)

A new use for the family car...

I was getting the grill warmed up to BBQ some chicken and heard some strange noises coming from the neighbors' backyard... The rest is on video...

I still can't believe what I saw...

They probably wasted more on gas than they'll get out of recycling the cans!

I can't see the video through our firewall, but I imagine it's like what my wife's uncle does. He's the chief of a F/D and they have a large trailer there for collecting aluminum cans. When it's full, they tip it up onto the front pad of the F/D and use the tanker truck to crush the cans. Since they have to run the trucks so much a day anyways, no loss on fuel.

Naw those arent rednecks... those are simply retarded city folk.

Red necks would have:
First: used the truck
Second: there would have been cheap beer involved and visable in everyones hands.
Third: would have used a slightly more inventive engineering and used a piece of plywood rto distribute the weight and crush all the cans at once.
Then might have gotten creative and stacked them up to see if the truck could climb them.

Then the rednecks would have built a bonfire and threw in the cans, sat around drinking Bud all night and then in the morning, collect the melted aluminum at the base of the fire pit.

I show up to work one day on a day the contractor has paving planned. Since I hadn't worked with this contractor before, I go over to see if he's got the proper rollers on site. I get to the rollers just in time to see one of the operators dump a huge bag of cans on the roadway and crush them with a 12 ton roller. It worked, but somehow it seemed a little odd

I would have gotten my tractor with the bushhog and let it take care of the cans...
