Anyone here into R/C's?
I saw one of those in an RC Modeler mag. They're neat looking, that's for sure. Yeah, it's big and slow (I think the top speed was 7.4 mph), but it's more of a replica model like you said than anything else. I'd like to have one though. Btw, thanks for the link to the MT forums.

It is a blast though. My son who is 3 gets a kick out of them. I'll go as far as letting him take control of the steering but not the throttle. He loves going to the races with me and seeing all the different "big trucks" as he calls them

Good to hear you and your son are having fun with the hobby.

Only problem is they'll run you about $350 just for the truck, then you need another 150-200$$ worth of electronics to put in it. Looks awesome though.

Here's a link to a gallery full of them.

Look on towerhobbies.com for spread spectrum (or it might be spelled specktrum), if you're interested.

RC Drifting

I know the Jato 3.3 is the most mechanically sophisticated r/c Traxxas has ever built. They're suspension setups are a step above anything else out there. And I know they're fast.
I've never ran one, but everyone I talk to that has one really likes their's.

I used to do that at the local slot car track, but I just spit on the rear foam tires, sit my Dale Earnhardt #3 nascar down on the track, pull the trigger, and watch em' burn! Whooo-hoooo! Go Dale! Yeah! Wooo!

Too much speed coupled with it being a 2WD makes it almost impossible to control. Some have actually swapped out motors and converted it to a single speed and had SOME success

Here is my Jato 3.3
