Cool little things though. Can they do and sweet tricks?
What about a mini 1/18 scale that you can tote around anywhere without much hassle? Just whip it out and run it in an open parking lot. There's alot of go fast hop-up parts for the mini's too.

The RS4-3's have proven themselves durable. The neighbor kids all ask to drive them when we are out. The neighbor kid rolled mine so good, that he broke three control arms and a knuckle

A local hobby shop still has racing, but it's in the summer, and we are very busy then.
Wow, he took out half your car man. That's precisely why I just let the kiddos steer, and I control the throttle. If they're big enough I just tell them no. If they persist, I yell "It's mine, and you're not playing with it."

I had one of those too. I love the stealth tranny. Tough as nails. They're pretty fast even with the stock associated motor. I gave alot of the parts off of it to one of my buddies that needed them. I still have the chassis if I ever want to build it back up though.

Is it a XXX-4? I like driving on the street. 20 mph rolling wheelies on pavement is so cool.

These were both bracket racers.
Ahh, I see. Nothing wrong with that. It's not all about speed, FUN is the word I'm looking for...

brian kinwald, matt frances and many mini local sponsored hot shots. they are machines behind the transmiter. my best qualifier was still a second slower than his worst q time

I have the traxxas E-Maxx. (electric version of the T maxx).
It doesnt have the speed of the T but will drag it around all day. It has alot of torque and does nice 40foot or better wheelies in stock trim. Mine has been collecting dust lately.
I added big bore shocks (bent the stockers), a wheelie bar and new front cross member and bumper due to some 10' jumps. I mostly chase the dog around the yard with it

RC Stuff... There's a huge hole in my wallet. I've got a RC airplane... A Hobbico Airvista trainer with an OS .40 in it. Also, I've got a Mini - Z that I dumped tons of money into, clear chassis, hopped up motor, Ferrari 360 Modena body, etc. Drove it into a freakin pool.

You'd want a 1/10 scale then. Here are a couple of 1/10 scale trucks that are tough as nails, and they're really good for:

Here's a 1/10 scale buggy that's good for bashing around also:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=LXRLP3**&P=ML

Here's a few "must have parts" that fit either truck:

You'll need this aluminum idler gear to bullet-proof the transmission. The "stock" plastic idler gear will eventually strip:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJJ94&P=ML

This bumper will save alot of broken front suspension parts:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXPUP9&P=ML

You'll want bearings and bearing carriers because the kit comes with bushings that wear out prematurely...

5x11x4mm Ball Bearings: (They say they're for the Nitro Stampede, but they'll fit the RPM Carriers)
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXD026&P=7

Bearing carriers: (must have for the 5x11x4mm bearings)

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXNY90&P=ML

These 6-cell nimh batteries will give you plenty of power and runtime with the stock motor that comes with it:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLWR4&P=ML
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJZD1&P=ML

These connectors will flow more current than the stock white battery/esc connectors, and have less resistance (the stock connectors melt with these high mAh nimh batteries anyway). You'll need about 4 pair. You have to solder them on the battery, esc, and charger jfyi.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXKX39&P=ML

This is a good charger:

If you want to find hop-up parts, go here: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0012p?&M=TRA. Just click on your model, and they'll have any part you'll need.

That's all you need to get started.

May I suggest that you go here and register if you are interested in getting one of these R/C's http://monster.traxxas.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 and do a search or just ask someone if you have any questions to find out how to do this stuff. I'm a member there, and they helped me build mine.
