Pissing off tailgaters
My question for y'all is do you move over to the shoulder,if one, when someone is coming up fast on you if there is oncoming traffic or do you just go along and force them to try and pass you?

Really showed him.
Really showed him.

I'll admit I hate tailgaters but I think everyone is guilty of doing it at least once in their life time. Besides I'm going to laugh when are in a rush because of a real crisis and someone pulls that crap on you, I wonder how you'll feel than.
Think twice
Jason was accused of tailgating and flashing his lights at 50-year-old Kelvin N of Highlands Ranch on E-470 before cutting him off and slamming on his brakes.
Jason was convicted of murder in a case of alleged road rage and given
two life sentences without the possibility of parole
All because Kelvin didn't move out of the way

Sounds to me like Jason should have learned to control himself. Kelvin's offense of driving slow could not possibly be as bad as all that.
I usually move over for faster traffic, especially if you flash your lights while approaching. If you climb up my tail and think I'll move, you need to learn how polite society does things... be patient, I'll move over sooner or later.
I drive a Banks powered 2002 Dodge dually diesel 4x4 with 6 speed maunal for a work truck. I love downshifting on tailgaters. It's great watching their front end dip down hard. They usually back off big time or pass me. But downshifting does the trick. Way I see it, if I cant see your hood and some of your windshield you too close for comfort.
I drive 5-10 over the limit just about everywhere I go. Sometimes there's an idiot that tailgates me...I just slow down to the speed limit at that point and forget about it. That's what you're supposed to do, from a safety standpoint.
Sometimes though, I just get really pissed. I feel like pulling over, letting them pass, then getting on their bumper. Then if they slow down, I feel like mashing the gas pedal to the floor and just plowing them around town. YEAH TAILGATE ME NOW BEEOTCH! lol that's a joke.
Anyway, I saw a guy on cops in a Suburban one time. When the cops got there, the lady in the car that was tailgating the Suburban called because she tailgated him for like 5 miles...the guy let her pass, followed her, then rammed her driver side door with his suburban and pushed her car up against a dumpster. He stayed on the gas and just burned rubber for literally 2 minutes. There was smoke everywhere, you couldn't even see her car when the cops pulled in. I bet she was scared.

No, in all honesty though, I pretty much try to stay calm...I don't overreact, and especially since getting my F150, I don't tailgate. These things definitely aren't stopping on any dimes.

I used to get mad, worked up and stressed out with all the bad drivers on the road, especially tailgaters. now i just ignore them and drive like i normally do. if they rearend me, well I've got a nice 2" drop hitch and good insurance.
i find it much more relaxing by not worrying about other drivers and playing games with them.

I have been here here in the Atlanta area for the last 2 weeks and will be leaving tomorrow. let me tell you that I will be GLAD to leave. I really like the area that I am in. But this area must have some of the WORST drivers in the world. I drove my huge van and I can't tell you how many times I have been almost rear ended because I was driving the speed limit and the other idoits wanted to drive well over the speed limit. The people here drive very aggressively and it seemed the police doesn't do much about it either. I couldn't say how many times I saw someone cruise right past a police car doing over the speed limit and they didn't get pulled over.
I just got to the point where I make them pass me. As long as I am driving the speed limit and not impeding the flow of traffic then they can find a way around me. They can get a speeding ticket but I am going to do whatever it takes not to get one

Anymore I just ignore them. I had some twit tailgating me down 64 once doing about 75mph. I think he finally saw the stack of rifle cases in the back of the truck (tailgate down) because he suddenly backed waaaaayyy off.
