So, I'm bored today, and go truck shopping (for me) with a buddy. We go to look at a lifted burnt orange F-250. Real nice truck, but it was a V-10 automatic. On the way in to get the keys, I see a black F-250 ext cab short bed FX4. On first glance, I see chrome emblems, so I automatically figured it was a 6.uhoh. I drive the V-10, and we get to talking. I asked him about the black one. He goes, oh, it's a 2000 F-250 Lariat 4x4 with the 7.3 and a 6 speed, and it's well in my price range... Going to take it for a spin tomorrow (was getting new wheel bearings put on today). But, I did get to get in it and start it up. It's clean and runs good, so hopefully, I'll be getting it soon...

It's dirty as hell in the pics I took, but you get the idea.

Yes... My limit on mileage for a truck like this was 130K, but this is EXACTLY what I want, and they're asking well under retail for it. And Buddha, I'm going for the nice truck and nice boat combo... Out here you usually see the huge boat little truck combo or huge truck little boat combo (which I'm also going for)

 

 

Hey Zaairman, where at in Rolla were you looking at the truck. Being that I have lived in Saint James, 10 miles from Rolla, I think I recognize the truck. See if you could find out who the previous owner was. If it's the truck I'm thinking of, it has had the **** ran out of it. It's a nice truck, but just giving you a heads up. I could be wrong though.

It's at Tim's Used Cars...few miles south of town on 63. They just got it in on a trade in. It doesn't look like it's been run hard. Exterior is good with only a few minor scratches, and the interior is good too.

 

Well, see if you can find out any info about the previous owner. I have a friend I can call and ask about how well the truck was maintained if it's the guy I thinking of.

Was the FX4 available in 00?

 

If I do get it, manly mirrors will be coming asap. I'm good friends with the parts man at the Ford dealer... And I'm not sure about the FX4 package...

 

I can't remember, but I think in 01 or 02 the FX4 was added to the F150. Then after that on the Superduty.
