Do they make them in 4wd? I wonder how they'd look lifted, probably couldn't turn a 28" tire. What kind of engines are in these and how about the gear ratio? Definitely an unsafe little critter, have only seen them in pictures from foreign countries.

when they first arrived here, a local ford dealer had one parked in the box of a superduty. it fit perfect. makes for even easier city parking, just carry a set of ramps strapped to the roof of your smart car, think of the parking money saved. of course you will want to disable that superduty somehow.

It must be something about the left coast. It's seems if something is going to be "unique" and "make a statement" it starts out there. Then for some reason the rest of the country feels the need to do like they do in California. Would DC get the same result if they introduced it in someplace like Utah, or Indiana? If it floats they could launch it here in Massachusetts, with Ted Kennedy as their spokesman.

No,I wont be getting one. Are they going to turn out like cell phones are now? Just some toy that everyone just has to have? We've become a country obsessed with toys. Can we produce some practicle things, like cell phones, and fuel efficient vehicles, for people who are done playing around?

There is a saying (and I did not make this up) As goes California, eventually goes the country. No doubt. Seems that any of the big fads started here (including a lot of silly stuff that didn't catch on.)

Maybe, but most likely not. Keep in mind that this is where the majority of TV commercials are created, produced, and posted. The power to market resides here. If the locals like it, media brings it to the rest of the country. Then the masses follow.

It's not that we are obsessed with toys as it is that we are obsessed with consuming. "Toys", as it were, are easier to acquire and just as easily discarded. A country that only consumes requires that consuming continue unabated. So they hypnotize us with things that only hold our interest just long enough until the next fun thing comes along.

All I know is that thing is FUGLY. If that's a status symbol, I'll definitely stick with the East Coast. We are ahead of the times anyway.

I think someone is a little jealous that he doesn't live in beautiful sunny California. No worries, I'll live it up here in conservative sunny San Diego for the both of us

It actually seems to hold up pretty well, unless it gets hit by another car.

Did you view the crashtest videos, every one of them shows that thing getting tossed around like a pinball machine. The old body style is not a tank. This, is a tank.
