I don't think any foreign government would be stupid enough to launch any kind of attack against the USA, conventional or nuclear. Not unless they caught us in the midst of a horrific natural or unnatural catastrophe (Yellowstone exploding, continental shift, alien invasion, etc..) As you said, their way of life would be over, their destruction in retaliation, complete...

However, if you misplace a few nukes, and a few well-heeled terrorists buy them (drug lords, regular terrorists, etc..) and with the news telling the whole world how much unchecked cargo enters our ports every day, and how easy it is to sneak in from Mexico and Canada; it's not impossible to imagine waking up one morning, turning on the TV, and hearing that San Antonio has been leveled by a nuclear explosion, or San Diego, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, New Orleans, Mobile, Miami, Charleston, Virginia Beach, Baltimore, New York, etc...

The more countries that have them, the harder it is to know who to hit back, so we get hit week after week, or day after day, until we surrender. All they have to do is sit back and say "Not me, I've got all of mine, see...."

This isn't a machine gun folks, it's the most powerful weapon on earth that we know of, next to biological agents, which can kill the whole planet, silently (for the most part). It'd be real stupid to let everyone that wants it, have it.

If it had stayed between us and Russia, there'd never have been a problem. But, now that China, France, India (How the Hell did we let India get nukes), Pakistan (Ditto), North Korea (Punked us, and built them anyway), and maybe one or two more I've forgotten about, there's a lot that can come up missing.

Do you guys remember the report on 60 minutes, or some TV Magazine, that reported Russia had 100 "suitcase" nukes, of which 80 were accountred for, but 20 were mising. Each one having the destrucive power of the Hiroshima bomb? That's when it came out that we had those two, but we called them "demolition bombs".

Not one to live in fear myself, or to try and scare anyone; after all, I did ask your opinions, I'm not here to sway anyone in any way.

The world is a dangerous place. A lot of people don't like us, so rolling over and showing our belly is not gonna make them like us either. That's why if Bush, or President Clinton decides to pimp-slap Iran, I will not be against it.

Let'em **** off Isreal and let Isreal clean up the yard. Who cares what they do to them? Go to Yahoo! news and do a little reading... No one should want these people to have weapons grade uranium. I'd say give them all of the reactor grade they need so they can make power... But don't allow them the technology to create WMD's on a nuclear scale...
