While not really a western, I did like- "Quigley: Down Under"

"I thought you said you couldn't use a pistol..."
"I said I never had much use for one."
--------------------------------------------------

I liked a number of the John Wayne movies.

Believe it or not, Unforgiven is the only Western I ever saw Clint Eastwood in.

then you need to see Outlaw Josey Wales. It was Eastwoods best one as far as I am concerned.

I have never met anyone who hasn't seen 'The Good, The Bad and the Ugly'.

Eastwood is in it, Eli Wallach steals it.

High Plains Drifter would top my list, then Tombstone. McLintock! is also awesome.

The truly horrible thing about Brokeback Mtn, is that it has a new format where the good guys get it in the end...

I remember going to the drive-in theater with my wife when we were in college. All in one night, we saw The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Fi****ll of Dollars, and For a Few Dollars More. My wife went to sleep, I didn't.

Lonesome Dove, as has been mentioned, is excellent.

but...

The Wild Bunch by Sam Peckinpah is in a league of it's own.

It's dumb, goofy and not real good...but I like Cat Ballou. Lee Marvin and Jane Fonda.

I don't believe this!! I have read through TWO PAGES of choices for best western(s) of all time. And NOT one mention of the best of all times.

SHANE!!!!

Let me say it again, best of all times
SHANE!!

Magnifiicent Seven comes in 2nd..

And a lot of others are super good, but those two, in my book, reign supreme!!
