QUOTE=KSUWildcat]Yeah, I'll watch the audition episodes where black women tell Simon off!

oh man, I laughed my *** off when I was watching that show when the big black women told Simon off! I kinda felt bad for her too after Simon made fun of her weight in on T.V like that, but seems like those two have made up.

The black women that told Simon off I thought was the best one of the night! she started that show off last night with a hit! She was pretty good, so I did vote for her 3 times last night. Even though she is a tad bit big, she has one hell of a voice on her!

I think its alright....some of the talent is good. I have a friend who was one audition away from being on Nashville Star, but got sick on his flight to Philly. He went for AI too but was one of the last ones to try out in Chicago. He recently recorded 4 songs in Nashville and is workin on getting a deal .

I personally hate reality shows, but will watch this sometimes.

I like it...

I worked 3 - Midnight for 5 years, so I missed most of the first 3 seasons; I saw a little bit last year- and have been watching this year...

It's probably the only reality TV show I like, and one of the few TV shows I'll even watch... But, if I could, I'd be at home right now, Watching Star Trek Deep Space Nine x2, then Star Trek The Next Generation x 3 on Spike TV, from 11:00 PM - 4:00 PM CDT.

I never get tired of those...

PS- As far as American Idol, Ricky from the DFW area, I met him 3 years ago at a church cenvention in Fort Worth; he and my then 14 year old were in the youth organization together... He was I thnk 17 or 18 at the time. He's tried the last two years. He didn't make it to hollywood in 2005, but he did make it there in 2006; but he didn't make the final 24. He's a good kid, and can sing, but I guess things change when you leave church and go stand in front of Simon, Paula and Randy.

I hated the show for a long time but it seems to have morphed in to a real track to stardom. I am in love with Kelly Clarkson, she would have never been without that show. Remember 2 grammys, you can't get those lip synching.

this year, I am watching it mostly because of Tivo. I think that Taylor Hicks guy is the real deal. I also like the bald dude and Elliot whoever.

The show seems to be drawing more than Karaoke contest winners. A lot of the people on here now have been performers and or had extensive lifelong voice training. It's far more interesting to me this year than ever before.

Dito. Taylor Hicks is fun to watch. Talk about a guy that loves music. Paris Bennet is another one. She's got quite a pedegree when it comes to music, and at 17, wow. The girls seem to have more of the "fresh young talent" thing going, though Tannik and Mandisa are interesting. The guys seem stronger in the mid to late 20's range.

Of the men, the ones I like best are Christ Daughtrey (aka the bald guy), Talyor Hicks (the grey haired spastic guy), Elliot (the wierd looking guy with the great voice). All 3 of those guys can sing and are good performers. I also think that the guy who went first is pretty good.

The two worst of the guys were Bobby (the big guy) and the young kid who was the 2nd performer. Baaaaad. Both should go tonight.

Everyone else is in the middle for me, though Ace was one of the best of the rest and will go a long way in this contest.

Of the girls, I really liked Lisa Tucker best. Ayla Brown and Catherine McPhee did well, as did Paris Bennet.

Don't like Brenna - she should go tonight. Stevie Scott and Heather *** had horrible performances, but both are cute. I think Heather is going to go tonight.

Taylor Hicks has got "it" I think. Sure, he's a little quirky, but it's all from his getting into the music completely. A guy will win this year, no question. It's a male's turn, so to speak. And that guy should be Taylor Hicks.

I know, I know. Let this thread stay dead....just hear me out. I hate the show, but was forced to watch it last night. Here's what I found for watching it once:

I was totally blown away by Taylor Hicks and Chris Daughtry.

Taylor Hicks, like BigTRQ mentioned, is an awesome entertainer and singer. If Stevie Wonder says he has what it takes, that is saying something.

As far as Chris Daughtry, I dont care if he wins or looses, I am buying his albums. There is NO WAY in hell this dude wont be on the radio. He has what is called TALENT. The dude KICKS AZZ ! ! !

I agree Jamz....Taylor Hicks was great last night. The audience loved him. His dance moves crack me up. Chris Daughtry is just awesome. Everything about him is. I also have a soft spot for Bucky.

I dont know anything about the rest of them. Just those two. Taylor Hicks is like no other, he has a gift, he has "IT" when it comes to music. He feels the music, and sings from his soul. I was completely blown away. When he sings and busts out with his "HEY!", it's freaking AWESOME ! ! !
