I need 4WD, first for winter driving when we lived in Alaska and now just to make it up my driveway in the winter! However, I can't say I need the truck. . .now. When we first got it and were moving with the military it was handy to have that 8' bed and topper for moving. Now, 98% of the time the bed is empty, I use it to haul trash to the dump and that's about it. I could get by with a smaller 4WD or All-Wheel drive vehicle but I really like my truck!!

If they made a car with this much interior space, that's this easy to get in and out of, that sits this high off the ground, has this much ground clearance and this much visibility, and had a neat box in the rear to hold groceries and stuff.......then yes, I could use a car instead of my truck.

my wife and i both drive new f150s and we "need" them like we need a hole in the head. i dont think anything has ever been hauled in either one. except for groceries in the back floor of the wifes S-crew. i use company trucks to haul stuff. i just prefer trucks over cars because of the height/room (im 6'4 about 240). i guess a full size suv would be a better fit but i havent found one i like as much as the new f150.

At first, I wanted a big truck to pull horse trailers. But, the parents wouldn't let me get something that big, so I settled on my 150. Do I need it? No. Do I want it? You bet your *** I do. I don't know what I'd do without it. It does get used. Not hauling lots of weight or stuff, just general moving stuff around, and driving places where nobody thinks that a 2wd can make it.

Sometimes I need the truck. I also really like trucks

Most of the time I could get by with a passenger car but I like to have the truck available when I do need it.

I use the crap out of my truck for what it was intended for. A truck. I tow a 27' Travel Trailer and camp just about every weekend. I am always hauling something. I purchased a 60's house cheap that was a fixer upper. Leave there 14 years and remodeled every room one by one. The truck has been worth it just for hauling stuff from the home centers. Just when I got the last thing done on the old house it was time to start over again. I need, use, and want my truck.
