Ahhh man, come on, don't do that!!!! : Please, don't do that!!!

I was head shooting squirrels with my K-22 and my Ruger Super Single Six with ease. Never banged at quail, because they are airborne. But, squirrels & rabbits, I thought nothing of it. You forget I was banging an NRA master rating, hitting Quantico Marine Base almost every weekend for pistol matches, and hitting at least 4 matches a month in my area, and practice at the range at least 3 times a week; along with staying up half the night dryfiring at blank walls.(big grin) I cheated one time hunting squirrels, that was way back in the late 60s. I was using my Browning Medalist 22 target pistol to hit squirrels. That was cheating, couldn't miss with that gun. If fact, back in the 60s I shot a match with that gun in the NRA building on Mass. Ave.I was almost cheating when I used the S&W K-22 on squirrels and rabbits. With its trigger braking like a glass rod, I couldn't miss a stationery tarkget within 15 to 40 yards (my hunting range).

I thank you for that compliment sir. Reminds me of the time I was a shooting timed fire match and the guy next to me scoring my target hollered over, you got 9 in the 10 ring, you threw one away there skinny..I smiled and came over looked at my target, call the ranger officer, he plugged one hole that was ragged, and said to the shooter that was scoring my target, that there is two bullet holes into one..10 shots are on the target..Needless to say, I poked out my chest, smiled like no tomorrow.

You have made my day!!

By the way, I shoot with both eyes open too.

Man, I got bragging rights up the wall now..What kind of cigars you smoke?? This rates a carton any day in the week....

I'm sick and tired of people accusing this administration of making mistakes, using bad judgement, firing from the hip, shooting first and asking questions later.

He is the VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!
He has an obligation to protect this Country as he sees fit.
The man had a towel on his head for crying out loud.
Cheney will be completely exonerated when this reaches the Supreme Court, I'm sure of it.

Let's just concentrate on one thing at a time OK?
First, we have to get Scooter Libby pardoned.
Then we've got to get WhiteHouse visitor log shredded before the Abramoff trial starts.

Then we can worry about ballistic evidence in the Cheney shooting and who knew what and when they knew it.

It can all be easliy explained if you'll just give us a minute to think, jeez.

Come on, man stay with me. The guy intentionally pulled the trigger with the intent to fire and kill, which he did. However, in the aftermath when everything was sorted out, the Japanese kid was not armed. Therefore it was labeled accidental death. It went civil trial as accidental death after the criminal trail exonerated the shooter.

There is no need for me to make this up. Information is too widely and easily available. I gave a name even, if you'd get off your collective liberal behinds and do a little research. You said you have all the facts on your side. You've stated nothing factual. You made jest and pointed fingers, while skillfully evading my questions. That qualifies as a factual argument how?

No political statements here just some fuel for whoever’s fire.

How many replying to this thread have quail hunted??? Or any upland game hunting??

I have hunted quail, grouse, and pheasant all my life. (in fact just got a new Beretta over and under last year for said sport, its a darn beauty, anyway). I have never hunted with or around ANYONE that this STUPID accident would have happened. And I have hunted with plenty of drinking buddies when in high school...oh the horror.. I say there is no fishiness or anything it was just a damn stupid mistake for the vice president of the United States to make. You always know where everyone in hunting party is before you squeeze the trigger PERIOD. I don't know if the one quote was real when the VP said he shot out of instinct, well, last time I checked a head, is no where near the size and look of a quail. This is just a dumb mistake by inexperienced shooters/hunters. At least I now know I have more hunting/shooting sense of the VP of the US.

I think you summed it up daggone well. Hunting is deadly sport. There is NO ROOM FOR error. That is why the NRA and responsible hunters preach and practice safe hunting procedures.

And if the rare case that you do make a gross error, and an accident happens, no coverup, no excuse, own up to making the mistake and move on. Trying to make an excuse for a gross error such as shooting another person IMO, just adds fuel to the fire.

I'm thinking that Mr. Cheney must have gotten a deferment from his hunter safety course....
