I was over in the dealer today to check on the statis of my Mountaineer after being in a little crash. There waiting on some parts so I got a chance to walk around to check out everything on it.
I came to the rear end, and noticed a trim peaice on the tail gate where made of painted fiberglass that lifts up with the rear window only as came apart AGAIN for the 3rd time since I have had it. I normally just take it to the dealer and they throw some glue in it, but everytime the glue has failed and the trim pops off half way just about. The past owner who has had it, also had this trim repaired after it had cracked in half on a cold day, and replaced and re-painted buy the same dealer.
Since Its at the dealer, I asked him to once again repair this trim for the 4rth time now! He told me since the glue is not holding, they have to take off the hole trim and sand it down and re-glue it, but now I have to pay for this to be done! 405.00 including tax!!!!
Is this right that I now have to pay over 400 bucks to re-glue this trim since the glue they used keeps failing?? The same dealer replaced this part back on december of 03? and since them tried to re-glue it 3 times afterwards, now I have to pay for it again??? something doesn't make sense?

Stop crying and fix it yourself. You know what sand paper is don't you?

 

I can't take it off myself, I don't know how to take it off without breaking it. Thats why the dealer will charge over 400 bucks becuase they said they will probably break it getting it off to sand it

 

I'd just rip it off and glue $400 on there.

That would look better for sure, especially to the womens.

I'm usually sympathetic to your crap, but now, and yes, I may be having a bad day, but I just can't believe that anyone is as ignorant as you are.

Is it just me, or is there anyone else on here that reads these posts and then sits back and realizes that they can never get those few precious minutes of their life back?

I don't want to come down on you like this, but I figure that you have parents that still wipe your nose for you, and never let you make your own decisions. Please man, stand on your own feet buddy and try it. LEARN! Make that decision with a little thought, discernment, and common sense. YOU CAN DO IT!!! You too can live and function as an independant human being, capable of addressing simple issues and coming to logical conclusions.
