can anyone here ACTUALLY cook?

not like heating up soup or something...actually making the soup or whatever from scratch

anyone can grill 'burgers or a steak
but how many can really "get-er-done" and cook up a old style dinner?

i do as much as time permits

yesterday i made a 5 layer lazagna
and when time permits i make my own pasta too!

sausages...big roasts...that sort of thing

...zap!

I tried cooking one time right after we got married(43 years ago), and we decided that it would be better if I never did that again. So other than charcoaling outside, I haven't.

I'm a pretty good cook. I lived alone for a long time, and a person learns a thing or two about cooking.

I dont go as far as you zap, I have never made my own pasta. BUT. I do make awesome corn bread (I'm from Texas, go figure).

I have a pretty big list of things I can make off the top of my head, and millions of things out of a cook book. If you can read and follow simple instructions, you can cook.

Now, on to my wife. That little 5'3" Italian hottie can cook anything. I eat like a king everynight. I'm not talking about hamburger helper either, I am talking about stuff from scratch like, parmesan chicken, eggplant parmesan, Ravioli Stew, the list is endless....

The worst part about cooking is the clean-up.

Thanks for reminding me dinty.

I cam make a bad azz omelet.

They are one of my specials. The wifey does most of the cooking, unless someone wants an omelet, then I am in the kitchen.

If you clean as you go, it's a breeze.

I can cook a few things like chili etc... with a cookbook I could probably do anything, but then who couldn't...

My GF is quite the whiz in the kitchen... She can cook just about any good ol' American dish, plus tons of traditional Vietnamese and other Asian goodies...

Tonight I'll be making chili...

Let's see... I'm Italian, grew up down South, spent a LOT of time in the kitchen with my Mom when I was growing up, and I'm now married to a gal from Georgia. I was cooking my own breakfast at 8 years old (bacon, eggs, toast, and sometimes French Toast or pancakes...)

Up until about 7 years ago, I weighed 140lbs, soaking wet... Now I weigh 210lbs... I LOVE to cook and EAT...

Glad I'm not the only one. After I got married, I learned "how" to eat.
