Now don't get uptight and get hold of the wrong end of the stick...I'm just pointing out facts, which are often sadly lacking on this discussion board.

I'm sure many nations will proffer help including the UK because we are all distressed at the amount of damage to the Gulf States.
Good so far.....

One undoubted reason....emissions.
Guess who releases more into the atmosphere than anyone else ?

OK...I am as much at fault as anyone...I didn't really need a 5.4 liter Expy !

Everyone has got to accept change sooner rather than later too!

But please stop crying Wolf and look to yourselves !!!
Traffic control to Lenny's post....*silence*

We've lost him....his post doesn't show up on logic radar....

Wait there it is...oh no it's gone...that was just Al Gore's "The internal combustion engine is going to end the world"

Seriously. I'm just messing with you but there is sooooo many problems with your theory and facts. I'll just send my money to the Red Cross and worry about the "horrors" later.

How the failure to implement the crazy Kyoto treaty and how it has led to the fact that the internal combustion engine directly correlates to Global warming thus causing increased water levels and temperatures which fueled Katrina which flooded the SE. Dang I didn’t realize my little F150 was so dangerous.

Not according to those that know anything about weather.

Ho Ho....

Very funny (Sarcasm)

Actually your post is nothing less than I expected.

To actually accept responsibility is way outside your powers of comprehension.

Not even expecting that actually...just a recognition of the possibilities that there may something in what many people are stating.

Your comment about your little F150 is pathetic.
Multiply your ONE by all the others...oops...forgot...outside your powers of comprehension.

I did actually state that I accept that I am at fault as much as anyone but could you admit that ?

Again............Point missed. Thats like saying you you get a six figure income which equates to only .15% of your employers total input so your making nothing. Go back to the referenced website and look at Total $$$ contributions..........and add to the fact the United States provides assistance worldwide....and maybe you'll start to get the picture.

Point was............LACK of countries offering assistance (no matter how small).....and these same countries would expect assistance during their time of need.

BTW....no need for personal attacks.......this is supposed to be a friendly discussion. Everyone has their view point and chooses where he/she gets their info to base it on.

I'm not going to get into it with. My post was meant to be taken in jest while still delivering the point that you have absolutely zero, nada, zip idea of what you are talking about. However due to the comment about my "powers of comprehension" I'll leave you to your beliefs, unchallenged and unresponded to. I have better things to do than argue with someone with

A. No sense of humor.
B. Likes to personally attack someone on a messageboard.
and
C. Has zero idea of what they are talking about.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled fantasy world.

Yes...that's fine. Whatever!

A. No sense of humor. MMmmm ! As someone who has worked with the Python team, I think that would be open to question !

B. Personal attack !
Just a bit of straight talking...nothing else, and not personal.

C. Has Zero idea...etc.

Well that's just your opinion and you are entitled to it !

I'd like to meet you in an Oxford Union Debate though !

Nuff said.

From the above link to NY Times

"Because hurricanes form over warm ocean water, it is easy to assume that the recent rise in their number and ferocity is because of global warming.

But that is not the case, scientists say. Instead, the severity of hurricane seasons changes with cycles of temperatures of several decades in the Atlantic Ocean. The recent onslaught "is very much natural," said William M. Gray, a professor of atmospheric science at Colorado State University who issues forecasts for the hurricane season.
....
In 1995, hurricane patterns reverted to the active mode of the 1950's and 60's.
....
Global warming may eventually intensify hurricanes somewhat, though different climate models disagree.
...
In an article this month in the journal Nature, Kerry A. Emanuel, a hurricane expert at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, wrote that global warming might have already had some effect.
....
Dr. Emanuel said, adding, "What we see in the Atlantic is mostly the natural swing."
"

Chris Matthews on MSNBC was asking can Katrina be blamed on global warming, like the tsunami last year. The science reporter had to correct him and state the tsunami was caused by an earthquake, not weather.

Chris Matthews is a tool. Keep in mind a journalism degree is one of the easiest to obtain.

Just read that a team of engineers/inspectors is ready to leave for NO.
They have a ton of experience when it comes to dikes/levees/breakthroughs etc.
Give us the green light and we'll be there.
Not sure what they can do at the moment but it's a start.

France and Germany have offered help also.

I think we can rule out assistance from North Korea, Brazil, France, Russia, and pretty much- the world...

Except maybe England, Japan, and Canada.

Then again- if Bill Gates house burned down- would you feel compelled to help him buy another one? I know that's a broad analogy because there are many ways to "help" without actual money exchanging hands. But I think you'll get my point.

All of NATO has offered help, and surprisingly, Honduras. Not sure what kind of help some of these countries could offer, but I am sure every little bit will help. So far no help has been accepted, probably because if they say come on in it woudl be a co-ordination nightmare. Hopefully the Feds will soon say what these other countries can do to help.
