PS- I don't think Martha Stewart should have gone to jail either, not because she's stanky-booty rich. But, because she did what 99.9% of us would have done, had we gotten a call from our stock broker, saying that we needed to make a move on our investment; or risk losing money. But, she got convicted, then- she stepped up and said insted of all the appeals, I'm just gonna do my time, and put this behind me... Good for you Martha! Those b**tards just wanted to see her fall.

I'd have done, what Martha did... That's what you pay a brokerage for- investment suggestions/information/strategy. What did she make- $50,000.00? What's a $50K gain to a multi-gajillionaire like Martha Stewart? Meanwhile, the big-dogs at Enron, (some of them) are still out & free who cooked the books and showed profits that didn't exist to fatten their bonuses, and keep the investors happy; all the while snuffing out the dreams of thousand of workers, and their retirement- are still Scott-free.

So yes; the trial & jury may not be perfect, but that's only due to how well a lawyer can get the point across, present the fact- or poke holes in the facts; that's unfortunate- but it's also irrepairable...

Better examples of a broke system are:

Rapist, Child Molestors, Murderers, Drug Dealers, etc.. Being released because the arresting officer forgot to read them their rights. If you've seen an episode of Dragnet, you know your rights.

Certain testimony being withheld from court proceedings because it was gathered in a manner that will not allow it to be presented.

Actually CIA, I disagree with that too. Just because it's something we all would have done doesn't make it legal. If you do the crime then be ready to do the time if you get caught.

If we all did what she did where would our economy end up? If we all got away with this then eventually the market would crash and would destroy our economic system as a whole.

As a financial writer, I know the consequences of giving that sort of information away. I keep to my "Insider Trading Agreements" like they were the only thread my life is hanging on. When I decide to buy, sell, or trade stocks I do it only when it is legal for me to do so. Which by the way normally sets me at the end of the line just like the next guy. But never the less I know to NEVER brake my agreement.

I do, however, agree that she made the most repectable decision to just do her time and just deal with it. Had she gone through all the pain staking process of appeals then I would be sick of her too. The biggest reason why I am now Pro Martha (even though her prison was a day camp). Had Michael done the same then I would be less bitter towards him. But he just can't face up to the fact that what he is doing is wrong.

It's only now that he announces that he will not allow any more kids to sleep in his bed. Now that he was so close the cell block that he can smell Bubba's bung. Why couldn't he have had that already taken care of. All the money he has he could have had any man or woman he wanted legally. Shamefully that isn't his liking.
