If 'spilling my seed' for 'other' reasons sends us to hell, then I think hell is a pretty crowed place!

You don't know your bible ... The only thing that sends a soul
to hell is rejecting the free gift of grace and forgiveness through faith
in Jesus as your saviour . Romans 10:13

that's new testament.

I thought there were a few areas of the old testament that were a no-no

Old testament is pre-grace. (AKA Crucifiction for our sins and the Resurection) They also had to make sacrafices before the ultimate sacrafice was made. New testament til current times is after grace. So now that grace has been introduced the new laws are now in play. BUT I don't fil under my conviction that it means that you can sin, ask for forgiveness falsly, then sin again. Once is an accident twice is a habit.

Unfortunately you are correct. There will be more in hell than in heaven. And they will have a full view of those in heaven eating and drinking and being merry. While those in heaven will not see hell.

I am a female F150 owner. My dad, a devout Baptist, was concerned about my sexuality when I bought my truck - my boyfreind says I am all woman. Dad's shopping for a new F150 now. I think I'll send him the article as soon as he buys it. Then maybe he'll have to give me the new one! Wouldn't want the neighbors thinking it runs in the family.

This is my issue with organized religion and "devout" believers. I have no doubt that they have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, but then their deeds and actions fly in the face of everything Jesus was about.

The extreme end is pro-lifers killing abortion doctors but then at the other end you have jealousy, envy, selfishness, etc.

When you're on your death bed, get back with me on that. You'll sing
a different tune. If you have a death bed.

That's interesting - like special interest groups don't force their beliefs on others?

Oh, that's right, if you're a Christian then it's wrong. Forgive me, I forgot the rules.

Uhm, isn't this a special interest group?

No, you misunderstand me, I am a practicing Christian, Christians aren't wrong, but they can be.

It's nice to see people discussing the Bible without the thread having to be closed down

Mighty, Thumper and others are right on, the bible says all you have to do is accept Jesus as your saviour, but I agree with J-150, it just doesn't feel right that you could simply accept and live life like a jerk, and still get into heaven. PSS sums it up perfectly, the old testament is pre-grace or pre-salvation. Jesus made a new and everlasting covenant and the new testament is a collection of stories you should get an over all message from, not pick individual lines to interpret or mis-intepret. The story about spilling the seed is so much more complicated and much longer than two lines about seed being spilled as is the story about Sodom being more about what was in the people's hearts than what their actions were. Besides, are you going to believe a story tellers version of seed spilling or the fact that God put your hands and ***** so close together?
