Just another conservative group trying to force their beliefs on everyone else, they still aren't as bad a Fred Phelps though, that guy is wacked.

 

I think their methods accomplish very little but they aren't pushing their views on anybody anymore than someone supporting Gay Day at Disney.

Liberals push their views as hard or harder but when a conservative group does it they are bigots or close minded. There is nothing wrong with them standing up and saying "Hey this organization supports this or that, if you don't maybe you should consider taking your business elsewhere". That is just free speech.

Frankly when Ford offers to give up to $1,000 to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination for every Jaguar and Land Rover it sells is pretty opprobrious to me. I wonder if I walk in and say hey I'm a pentecostal Christian if they would mail my church a grand. I doubt it.

To each their own but don't be so quick to judge conservative groups.

What's the big deal if a group disagrees with who a company supports and what lifestyle they endorse? Until liberals give the boot to Senator Robert 'Sheets' Byrd (D-WV), I think there's no room at all for liberals to talk about inclusiveness and so on. Besides, all this talk of acceptance and inclusiveness is a politcal correctness run amuck to label opponets as biggots and hate mongers. Let's talk about the great Byrd for a sec...if you wanna talk about hate. He was a proud sheet-wearing member of the KKK in his younger days. A Grand Kleagle. I believe I've read that means he was a recruiter? Anyway, come on...get over it. Why don't we just let boys join the girl scouts and girls join the girl scouts? I mean, isn't it hateful and biggoted of these two groups to exclude the other sex? Shame on them Some of these Christian groups get lampooned for the things they boycott just because some of them really are kooky...but many have honest disagreements. So maybe you should think about who's being a biggot and unfair when you slam anyone for having a different opinion and making that difference of opinion public. It would seem to me some of you are lashing out at anyone that even remotely has similar beliefs as the group that's calling for the boycott. If so, grow up a little and learn to live in relative peace with those around you. Nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, but the brush some of you have picked up to paint with is very broad indeed. Personally, I have no shame in believing as I do. I don't care what anyone else thinks about it. We're all entitled to our opinion. But I'd never get on here and slander a group of folks that have a different opinon than me. Unless of course that group is known to be whacky...like ELF (Earth Liberation Front - the morons that run around torching SUV's, trucks, condos under construction, etc).

P.S. I've read some of that book these Christians talk about all the time. The Bible I think it is. And yes, while it does talk about Jesus being loving and accepting, it also talks a lot about lifestyle issues and what's considered acceptable and unacceptable. Having love for someone and accpeting them as they are doesn't mean that you accept the lifestyle and it doesn't mean that you can't disagree with the lifestyle and think it's wrong. There's that statement I've heard before - Love the sinner but hate the sin. Yes, yes, go on and make fun because you have different beliefs...bla, bla, bla. But I'm simply explaining how it is a group that claims to follow a man/God that loves everyone can have strong opinions as to what's proper and what's not and how that relates to the people involved in the lifestyles we're speaking of.

Can't we all just get along?

Well said. The commercials of the day are just the sign of the times. It has been written, so it will happen.

 

Not judging, just calling it what it is, it's whining if it's a conservative or liberal group. Many groups on both sides do a lot of good and bad.

I might get to see some of Phelps groupies in about five days. A student at our middle school wrote an essay about Ellen Degeneres that included nothing about her persuasion, but the good Reverend was in the neighborhood and decided to throw up a protest.

So what's the problem?

This is America. Americans have the FREEDOM to both believe what they want and express their views. If a group wants to boycott, that's their right.

You all blast this group for what they're doing, but are you waiting in the parking lots of PETA (They don't want you to drive Fords with leather seats), or Sierra Club (No SUVs), or any of the groups against large corporations for a plethra of "stupid" reasons?

At least this one is plausible. No matter what your beliefs, you either believe that you EVOLVED, or were CREATED.

Homosexuality flies in the face of both views.

No species would "evolve" by homosexual means, because you need both genders to reproduce, and baby's don't start growing in fudge.

God (according to the Bible) created us male and female for the purpose of reproducing.

This boycott isn't because Ford makes products that a homo might buy, but rather because Ford redefines the family to include same sex couples.

Think about this also. That redefinement raises the price of your Ford vehicle due to the fact that your paying for the benefits of additional policy holders because they are living with a Ford employee. It's not quite like ole Bob and his wife and kids. It's more like Bob and his partner Neal. Up goes the costs to cover ole Bob and Neal. PLUS, the homosexual life style has a far greater rate of incurred health costs due to the detrimental life style that goes along with it. Guess what, your paying for that too. And so are the heterosexual employee's at Ford who incur the rising group costs because of that same thing.

Will I boycott Ford? Honestly, probably not. But guess what, that's my right, and I respect the rights of those who do boycott it, as well as I respect the rights of a homo in this country to be a homo. But I'll also expect him to respect my right to completely disagree with his lifestyle, and me having to pay extra because of it.

I also respect any of you for disagreeing with me. It's the freedom we all enjoy in this Country.
