Okay, I've heard this song before, but they've started playing on the old country station here. Or at least I've heard it twice in the last week. About the only place I listen to that station is my alarm clock as I'm going to sleep, but since I heard this song last week I've been listening a lot more, but THEY NEVER PLAY IT ANYMORE!

So, anyway... I don't know who sings it obviously... it sounded kinda like Earl Thomas Conley, but I went through his stuff on Amazon and nothing looked or sounded familiar. The only line I can remember now (remember I was half asleep when it came on) is something about ... "...when I do, what I do" or something close to that. It was kind of a slow song...

Please help... It's just driving me crazy...

 

Now you did it I can't get it out of my head. I know what song your talking about but can't remember the name either.

Is it "I Might Even Quit Lovin' You" by Mark Chestnutt? Not early 80's but it's worth a shot. Or maybe Anne Murray's "I Just Fall in Love Again" ?

The rest of the song is probably about his wife leaving him, his dog is lost, he lost his job, his truck is still running so he sits on the bar stool doing what he does.

I'm familiar with some old country, but that isn't ringing a bell.

Jackson is not country by any means, however from what I remember of that song it sounds like something they would play on one of the new country stations around here.
