This may not be the one you are thinking of, but it reminded me of a song by Ray Wylie Hubbard. It is not real slow and has a catchey beat. "I don't know why I do the things I do, I just do". He was recording a cd and was told he needed one more song about 3 and a half minutes to reach the required minutes for the cd, so he sat down, wrote the song in about 15 minutes, then they recorded it. He does it at some of his concerts.
