Nice, Welcome back. I was gonna say what a stupid move it would be to complain about gas prices and to trade in a truck that is paid for (I assume) for a truck with better gas mileage and picking up a payment. Oh well, you're here. all that matters

I'm sure I'll lurk occasionally and give feedback on my experience.

Which is 100% positive with my ownership. I had very little problems with my truck.

The 5speed trans was rebuilt at around 20,000 miles.
And I had the power window motor replaced on the drivers side.

That's it. At 70,000 miles I had

Original Battery
Original Brakes
Original Belts
Original Hoses
Original Plugs
and the originial Tires (they weren't even down to the wear bars yet. I am totally amazed with those goodyears. The suck in the wet, but last a long time and work okay in the snow)

The truck was a 4x4 with offroad package. I special ordered it in 1996 through the military overseas program. So it was actually a 96 1/2 F150.
I had Captians Chairs, the 4.6L and the 5spd. I bet there are not many like that.

With the 4x4 and 4.6 I would still average about 15-16 mpg mixed driving.

On the highway I could get high 17's if I drove 65-70 mph.

I would recommend it to anyone.

Wow you had a dream truck right there...

How do you like your new '08? Miss the 5 speed I suppose?

thanks all, am glad to be back.

Will have more details on my truck when I pick it up tomorrow. They had to get one from another Dealership.

PS

The Nissan wasn't a bad vehicle at all. I have about 100,000 miles on it and it still runs great. I prolly could make do if they had a 4 door model with the long bed, but they don't.

I'm at a point in life now, that I would like to ride in a little style and not just "get by" so for now the Nissan will be used as an around town truck and for my daughter to drive. Yes she is learning to drive a 5 speed! She's not happy that it's a truck though.

Awesome!

Not to rub against Ford, but you should've gotten the Frontier Extended Cab with the NISMO 4x4 package and the 6 speed manual. Gosh I love driving that truck.

I've gotten my friend's to burn rubber from 1st, 2nd, to 3rd! Reminds me of my Dak, but with 4x4.

Sickkk truck that Frontier is... sick! Plus the handling and towing is impressive.

My friend wants to do some F/I on it... like a supercharger... now that would be totally sick!

So you kept it? Good to hear.

They actually do make a Crew Cab longbed for the frontier. I don't know what year it started. It might have been in 2006. The pic here is of a 2009 model.

What kind of fuel mileage did you pull from your Frontier? My '97 Ranger (4-banger with an automatic) will only do low-20's, which I don't think is all that great considering.......

My buddy's Frontier gets with the v6 and 6 speed, gets between 19.5 to 21.5 combined city/hwy mpg... even if we beat the crap out of it. It actually seems to improve the more we hammer it.

But low 20's with a 4 banger auto?! Wow! My F150 gets better gas mileage... and it weighs 3x the weight of it with an archaic engine.
