I feel so deprived, my Dad would never race me with his new cars...

Of course, our first race would have been my Volkswagen Rabbit versus his Dodge Colt.

Not that exciting...

All else aside, they can claim to be roomier and the numbers may even say so, but that roominess is ill used (at least in the driver's seat), the only truck less comfortable to sit in was the Tundra. Then again to normal sized people maybe the Titan is more comfortable. JMHO

The previous generation F-150 is not bad company to keep... If it were still being produced today, it'd match=up well against the 2004-2005 F-150's

Are you serious? I'm sitting here with a L with only 3K miles on the clock in my stable, and I will tell you that the last generation F-150 is no comparison to the new F-150s. The new '04-'05 F150 outshines it in interior quality, ride, frame rigidity, crashworthiness, etc, etc, etc. Your credibility just took a major hit with that statement my friend.

That's a tad over 300 lbs; which means the Titan out weighs the old F-150 by 200 lbs- since the new F-150 is 500 lbs heavier than the 1997 - 2003 iterations.

Since when does heavier mean better? Would you want a 300 lb woman, or a 120 lb woman? Especially if the 120 pounder could out run and out tow the 300 pounder?

I believe it was Motor Trend, or Car & Driver that said in their test of the full size trucks, the Titan was faster with a 1,700 lb load than the Domestics were empty. (This didn't include the Hemi powered Ram) So, it's not about weight- it's about getting the power the engine makes to the ground- since the Titan 5.6L only has 5 more ponies than the Ford 5.4L. MT made a funny when they said 40 of the 3V 5.4L's 300 horses must've jumped off the trailer before the test began.

I see guys around here are starting to customize them- it's not everyday you see a Japanese truck with flow masters, lowered and 20-22" rims- but, I see that a lot now. I've only seen two Tundra's with dual exhaust in the last five years- but they're selling Tundra's on 20's now. That seems to have been a huge hit for Dodge- offering a 20" rim as an option. 8 out of every 10 Rams I see, have the factory 20's on it..

------------------
Frank- have you went to decaf yet?
Admittedly, the new F-150 exceeds the previous gen in a lot of areas, interior ergonomics and frame strength are a given- but from the seat of the pants, it's not a huge improvement over a 2001 - 2003 in ride quality. In fact, you can't compare the "ride" of a Lightning to ANY Non-Lightning F-150, not even the Harley Davidson. They all ride better than your Lightning... You can't tell me because I've driven them all- from XLT to King Ranch, Silverado to Sierra Denali, XE to LE, and Rams and Tundra's too. Are you trying to tell me the old F-150 is crap compared to the new one?

I think you lost credibility with that statement.

'Xcuse me while I whip this out....

Grow up little man. I'm not saying it's crap, just saying like the titan it is of lesser value. Reading comprehension, reading comprehension.

Knuckle dragging, inbred, union-loving hick
Wrong again. I'm from up nawth. Not from Jaw-jah. Not that there is anything at all wrong with being from the South.

Who said hick's are indigenous to the South, or that they can't migrate.

I edited my post- (Albeit a little too late)...
Sorry about the jab- but really; you guys need to loosen up. Competition is a good thing. If it weren't trucks would still be what they were in 1989.

Thanks to the trend initiated by the 1994 Dodge Ram (Introduced in 1993), trucks are as nice as, if not nicer than most cars. In fact- some people leave cars to join the truck ranks... (Me)

Even if it's a temporary move...

be careful, i saw some of the women you posted pictures of in the T and A thread.

i think faster150 has some mods he is not mentioning. there is no stock or close to stock 4.6 truck that will hang with the new dodge hemi. i ran 15.2 in my brothers 1500 4, door. Unlike faster150, this truck is stock down to the paper air filter. the fastest 4.6 i have seen ran 15.8 with a short bed regular cab and a 5 speed.

2 things, first a 5-speed 4.2 (V-6) can beat an automatic 4.6 (V-8) everyday of the week and twice on Sunday...

Second, the best ride I have ever felt in a truck is in the Lightning. It feels secure, hugs the road, not stiff but firm, just an excellent ride quality. Funny thing is the Lighting towing 2,000 lbs will beat any truck on the market today, even if they, any other brand of truck, only tow 1,500 lbs…
