Wish me luck...
Going in to have a wisdom tooth pulled tomorrow...(oops, I guess it would be today, seeing as how it's 12:48am!) Anyhow, I decided to forgo the $120 to be put under, my insurance won't pay for it...
...I'm getting increasingly nervous about the whole thing and I sure hope everything goes smoothly. Y'all wish me luck, I need all the help I can get about now.

Personally I would have sprung for the $120 but, to each his/her own. Good luck and it'll be over before you know it.
Don't get too nervous Rose, you'll be fine. I had all four of mine pulled out at the same time with just a local. Took about 45 minutes from the time I sat in the chair until walking out. I got lucky and none of my teeth were impacted. Dr. just did a little prying and pulled them out.
Had a sore mouth for the rest of the day and used a lot of gauze but was still able to get up bright and early the next morning and go turkey hunting.
Good Luck....

Pay the $120!!! Youll never know what hit you...the doc'll stick the needle in, and all the sudden youll wake up with a mouth full of cotton....then some painkillers and soft food....
Wow good luck...I've been putting my appointment off for weeks now.
That lower jaw permantenly numb, loss of smell thing kinda put a hitch in my giddy up.
Oh yea and the IV to knock me out....

Good luck Rose!!! Be sue they put you under, the easiest way IMO. You will wake up feeling like your drunk and you’ll probably sleep the rest of the day. Just hope you don’t have an exposed nerve like I did, those hurt like hell until the skin covers the gaping hole in your jaw. But I hope all goes well little Miss Chipmunk (what you will look like afterwards)
You'll be alright...
I had a root canal done in 1992 (Many people claim root canal's are the worst thing you could ever have done in terms of pain). Let's just say, it was so painful, I slept in the lap of the dental assistant while the dentist worked, and I wasn't knocked out; I was just sleepy.
The only pain I felt was when they gave me the numbign shot in the roof (That hard, ridged part) of my mouth (Which hurts worse than in the gums ever will). After that, all my top teeth & gums were numb- even my eyebrows were numb..
They kept leaning the chair back until my feet were where my head would normally be, and the nurse held my head, neck & shoulders in her lap (She was cute too!)
, I'm sure she didn't think the same as I drooled all over her lap- most of which was not dentally induced.
I don't know if that's normal (To be leaned back that far), but that's how the Army dentists did it.

Good luck Rose. I had all 4 of mine pulled at once a couple years ago. I had them knock me out for mine, even thought they had to wake me up to knock me out (I was tired & my appt was in the morning). Make sure they give you some good drugs for AFTERWARDS. Altho I only used them the first day & then after that used Tylenol & Orajel (infant nighttime formula works AWESOME!).
