Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

I am alive and well and minus one tooth! I went with just the local which turned out to be the best choice. As it was it took longer to numb it up than it took to extract the tooth!! The surgeon came in, made sure it was numb, told me I would feel a lot of pressure because they push on the tooth to loosen it instead of pulling. About 30 seconds later the nurse was stuffing gauze in my mouth and said it was done!! I was amazed, and relieved!! Took one of my pain pills at 1:30 this afternoon but haven't had one since and there is no pain.

I'm so glad to have it done!!!

^^^

Oops, forgot to tell you that the surgeon didn't have to dig for the tooth just pull it. It had erupted through the gum several years ago and the only reason the dentist wanted it out was because it was to far back in my mouth for me to brush it properly. He didn't want me to have problems with decay further down the road.

Just dont get a dry socket....

If that happens, they have to rip the skin open and clean the hole out. Its not fun.

BTW, I had all 5 of my Wisdom Teeth removed on the same day.

Glad to hear all went well!

I used to be afraid of dental work but the Doc I go to now is amazing. I've had a couple of "procedures" over the past year or so, including a root canal, and haven't experienced any pain at all. Denistry has come out of the dark ages!!
