Lance goes for Six!!!!

Don't know how many are interested, but this week Lance Armstrong started his quest for 6 Tour de France wins in a row. He co-holds the record now, and if he can win this one, it's his alone.
He fell this morning in an accident at the start of the 6th stage, but apparently he's okay and back up and with the peloton.

OLN TV network is running daily live feeds from the race, and several repeats throughout the day. If you are at work and have internet access, the best live feeds are coming from:

http://www.cyclingnews.com/

Look under MAJOR RACES (left side), Stage 6 live coverage now.

Talking

He got spanked by a Frenchman yesterday, wasn´t he.
He is 9 minutes behind now in the standings.
He lost 12 minutes yesterday I believe.
Probably had an off day or "his stuff" didn´t work.

I'm keeping tabs on the standings... I hope he pulls it off. I'd like to have an American hold that record alone for many years to come... those snooty french bastards...

Not sure but I think I saw he was sponsored by Subaru.
True?

And US Postal of course.

He got divorced and is now dating Sheryl Crow.
Is that true also.

Yeah, a Frenchman won the stage yesterday, but if you read the commentary, Lance and team decided they didn't wish to defend the jersey for such a length of time. Plenty of time to race once they reach the mountains. Nobody ahead of him on general classification has much of a chance in the mountains. All the General Classification riders that are a threat to him are behind him currently.

US Postal has decided not to sponsor the team next year. The Discovery Channel has already stepped forward to be the main sponsor. Subaru and OLN are also minor sponsors.

Lance is dating Cheryl Crow, they have been living together in Gerona, Spain for several months. He also dated Sandra Bullock for a time before Cheryl. His divorce is final.

Oh, I just read what I typed..... sounds like a stalker!

Actually just a avid bicyclist for 30 years or so.

Question

Just asking questions but is it also true not many Americans know who Lance Amstrong is.
Being such a great sportsman and almost nobody knows who you are , that must suck big time.

He´ll probably be cycling around the church in Wateringen, 5 miles from where I live, when the Tour is over.
All cyclists do that, just filling their pockets.
Not that LA need that but he´ll probably here.

Ooh, he dated a girl from here in his younger years.
Here she is.

Danielle Overgaag

Not bad huh.

Probably true...many don't know him, but at the same time, A LOT do. Mostly because of his battle with cancer and then the whole bike thing.

I think anyone that has banged Sandra Bullock and Cheryl Crow should be known world wide and treated like the god he is!

I just read that Lance is currently in 6th and is about 9 minutes off the pace after a fall in today's leg of the race. He's certainly down but not out of the hunt!

Lance is right where he wants to be. Ahead of all the General Classification contenders. The mountains start Weds., that's when the real fireworks begins. The individual time trial up L'Alpe-d'Huez is next Weds. the 21st, and on paper, the hardest day of the tour will be the 22nd. There will be 16,827 feet of climbing, over 5 mountain passes covering 205 Km.

I'm stocking up on beer now!

Don't know why, but I never cared for Mr. Armstrong. Probably same reason why I don't care for Jeff Gordon. OLN's wall to wall coverage irks me too. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go shoot something!

One of my favorite LA quotes is when he is talking about winning his 5th in france "to hear my anthem, in this country, gives me chills." I think Lance deep down hates the french as much as any good Texan does.
