Just read that former American top cyclist Greg Lemond is accusing Lance Amstrong of the use of doping.
This according to an interview with Greg Lemond in French newspaper "Le Monde"
"Lance will do everything to deny but some day the truth will come out. It's a miracle he has never been caught yet."

Interesting, I went to Le Monde online, but my French is sadly lacking and I couldn't read enough of it to form an opinion. I'll have to wait for it to hit the english papers.

Try this link to an article at Bicycling.com:
LeMond Blasts Armstrong

Le Monde also has an online English version but it's not as exciting to read.
Their online French version has it as:
"Me, I will only say that I want to know the truth when I'm watching the Tour de France. Lance is ready to do anything to keep his secret. But I do not know how he will continue to convince the world of his innocence."

Ever notice that the only critics and naysayers of Lance are the ones that continue to LOSE to him, or whose records he's broken?
Thanks JohnAndDar for the link.
Funny that LeMond takes Armstrong to task for possible doping violations, but then turns around and says Armstrongs' tour record can't hold a candle to Hinault's records. During LeMond and Hinault's era, there was little or no doping controls, hence Thomas Simpson dies on a climb, and drugs are directly associated with the death. LeMond assumes all riders during his time were drug free. NOT!!!!!!
I believe most riders have tried some form of drug enhancement. Most have left it behind them years ago. I remember back in the mid eighties when I was racing in USCF races, there were guys outwardly using all types of supposed performance enhancing drugs. A few were taking illegal substances even at lowly amateur events like I was racing. I think we would be foolish to assume that Armstrong has NEVER used drugs. This guy has been racing Triathalons, and bike races since he was 12. He grew up with guys riding out of Richardson, Tx. Some of them served as his early role model and training partners. He raced and trained out of Plano on several afternoons. I rode with many of those guys (including a teenage Armstrong on an occasion or two) in the summers during the late 80's. We rode to the north of Plano, all the way to the Oklahoma border on some group/training rides. No doubt some of them were doing some "performance tuning" then. I also think that with the level of testing he is subjected to if he was doing something it would show. The question is: Are we going to penalize the guy for past errors of judgement? If we do most of us should get a speeding ticket in the mail for that blast last week or last month or this afternoon on the way home. What is the statute of limitations on drug useage? Does just saying you used it, or someone proves you used it back 10 years ago or so constitute forfeiting all accomplishments since that point in time?
Okay, I'll climb down now on my own, no need getting the gun!
*gets down, drags the soapbox over to the corner and resumes his hunt for a cold beer*

Anyone who knows Lances' story knows that when he had cancer it broke his body down to the point where he didn't even look like the same person. Actually it wasnt the cancer, it was the surgery and chemo. When he began to train again he was much lighter than before. He used to be very muscular and a just a great sprinter, not a great long distance rider. I'll bet 5 bucks he isn't doping. If the poor guy submits to anymore blood tests, he'll have so many tracks he'll look like a heroin addict.
As for Greg LeMond, it just boils down to jealousy. 5 baby! 5 in a row.

I hope Lance does break the record, I just looked and he is up to second now. Here is a link if you want to read up on him

What a stage today!!!!! Go Lance!
You've got to admit, Lance is handling all this doping stuff coming from LeMond very well. Not attacking the man at all, just reminding him that he was an inspiration for him as he matured into a professional.

All cyclists do that, just filling their pockets.
Not that LA need that but heŽll probably here.

That still won't save the USPS though. They'll probably lose another 6 billion of our tax $$$ this year.
