I Quit!

Today is the day Habibi quits smoking

I know I said I was quitting when I finished my current supply, but I will throw my 2 remaining packs out, or maybe even keep them as a retirement bonus. (by then a pack should sell for $2,400)

So here I am, 4:07 PM, and I am halfway through the first day successfully!!!

I can't wait to be a successful quitter again, no more stinky truck, no more stinky clothes, no more stinky breath. no more ashes over my keyboard.
I've also figured out my tobacco habbit costs me $9 a day.
$9 a day!!

I've quit twice before, once for a year, and once for 2, so I know what to expect, but from what I remember, when I get past the 3 week mark, it's pretty easy then.

Wish me luck guys!

Habibi

Good Luck my man!

I'm due to quit soon myself. My wife quit a while ago, and they passed legislation banning smoking in most places here.

I'm planning to make a run at it by the end of the year. I already started cutting back, and am down to about half a pack a day.

You know you're getting older by the number of things you don't do anymore.

that's funny isn't it.
i used to smoke in a vehicle while trying it out
now days i don't allow smoking in my truck that i own, quit smoking in our apt as well, and i can't smoke in the office so i'm slowly but surely cutting back as well.

Thanks fellas.
The time I quit for 2 years, I thought that was it, and I was off the cigs forever.
I was a real ***** too, wouldnt let anyone smoke in my house.
I was the most uptight "anti-smoker" you could imagine.

Then one night I witnessed a gruesome murder that happened 2 feet from where I was standing, and I've been smoking ever since. I know, it's a weak *** excuse, but that's the truth.

This time I mean business!

Yeah that is pretty weak. Try saving a dead girl, that's not fun.

You'd think that would make you go out and buy a handgun and a license to carry. What are you gonna do the next time, blow smoke in the killer's face?

Good luck on the quitting for good this time.

I stopped in 1968 and haven't had a puff since, not even a cigar.

Godd luck Habibi!!!!!!!

Save your $9/day for a couple of months, go buy a handgun and get a carry permit. next time a murder happens 2 feet in front of you, let the gun do the smoking.

Congrats,

It's going to be tough for the next few days but getting through the first one is a big hurdle.

A month from now you will be breathing so much easier and doing things you forgot you could do.

Everybody is pulling for you.

Sometimes it takes something "bigger than you" to make you quit. I quit three times. Two of the times was when I was pregnant (I quit for each kid), and the third was because this @sshole whom I was taking to court, thought I was weak. I quit and made sure he saw me calmly glaring at him while waiting for our case instead of outside smoking nervously like he expected.
Each time, I quit "cold turkey" for a few years, and now I intend to quit again.
My tip: Stick a piece of celery in your mouth, chew it slowly, and breathe deep, enjoying the oxygen. This helps with both the 'what to do with your fingers', and the 'empty mouth' besides being hardly any calories.

Good luck!

Odd that you chose today to do it...

My uncle just had 70% of his left lung removed today during surgery to attempt to remove a tumor.

Stick with your decision.
