It's been going pretty good, but the last few days I've been getting wicked strong cravings. I keep telling myself what Mike wrote above, and this helps me be strong.
If I don't stop eating like a pig, I will need to buy new clothes, LOL
Ok, well, next update will be at my one month anniversary.
I will make it!

Ya got two weeks under the belt ....... albeit an expanding one. Most people gain weight after quitting. Unless you are one of those sadistic nuts that enjoy vigorous exercise, you can still go for walks and bike rides when you get the urge to hit the fridge.
No turning back now Habibi, you have to stay the course or we'll jump all over you.
Good luck & hang tuff!

"So to be perfectly honest, if I didn't get so sick where I had all this trouble breathing, I would still be smoking today.
I just don't want to sound like a smug guy who gives a pretentious look like I invented the sunrise or something."
Pain is a motivator.
Now to get really deep before my first coffee, When you quit wanting you quit hurting
One way of looking at this is you never have to go through this again. Remember what you are going through now when you think of that next smoke. Play the tape all the way through. Hang in there. We're pulling for you.
I have a twin brother who only needs one match a day. When I call him he coughs so much that I just tell him to call me back when he can talk. I wish he would try to quit again too but nobody can force him.

Way to go Habibi!
You are probably sick of advice, so I won't give you any...
Aw who am I kidding, I have to get my 2 cents in.
At two weeks, you are probably gaining weight, done coughing up big green frogs, and probably feeling great. But can't get your mind off of a smoke. To rid your mind of all that hullabaloo, go to the gym and lift huge piles of weight. I guarantee that you will be surprised in the amount of strength you have. A few weeks of this and you will have a new addiction. You will be a gym freak. This is how I quit smoking. My bench press went from a paultry 135 lbs. to 225 lbs right after I quit. Two years later I put up 405. The fact that you have new goals to reach, you feel better and you have more energy will fuel your new "habit" and will turn all those calories you are ingesting into fuel and muscle.
But make sure your pneumonia is gone and you are taking a good multi-vitamin. You don't want a relapse.

Thanks again fellas!
I notice as each day passes, I find myself thinking about cigarettes less and less.
The time it really tests my will power is when I am in the same room as a dirty rotten filthy smoker.
Good idea crashz, the next step in my master plan is to purchase a membership at the local fitness place, I'm just waiting to get over my sickness completely (it's still lingering), and I want to increase my breathing capacity.
I do feel a difference after only 2 weeks though, I feel stronger, and energetic.
My next update will be in 2 weeks (one month anniversary)
I know when I make 3 months, then I'm home free!

congrats man, you're past the worst part. The physical addiction is gone so you just need to get past the brain saying "gee a smoke sure would taste good now" issue. rotsa ruck!!
