Day 2 is almost complete, and today was easier than yesterday.
The only time I wanted a smoke, was after a nasty arguement with the wife over something stupid.

Bring day 3 on, I am ready!

WAY TO GO BRO! Your doing great!

You will probably start to notice how much better your food tastes if you haven't all ready. That was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise for me when I stopped.

The evenings are the worst, especially after a late dinner, and then parking myself at my puter.

Oh, do I ever want a puff right now!!
I will stay off em, and think about the 9 bucks a day I'm saving, and maybe soon this "cheezefinger" will be gone too, LOL

Having never been a cig smoker, I have no idea what that "craving" for one really is. BUT I will share an experience that made me VERY glad I didn't start smoking when all my buds started lighting up.
In 1977, at the age of 28, I was having some lung leakage from a congenital scarring problem....was always worse in cold weather....went up in a light plane on a cold 3 degree day and suffered a pneumothorax.... lung collapse.... hospitalized and due to my history, was operated on and a large cyst (previously undetected) was removed. After waking from the surgery, the surgeon visited me and said he could tell I wasn't a smoker and showed me a piece of my tissue vrs some tissue from a smoker.... A couple of my friends who smoked was in the room and witnessed this and THEY BOTH QUIT smoking.............. My tissue was all pink and the other was................ well...... it ws too gross to mention............

Good luck with the quitting and I fully encourage you to stick to it....................

Day 3

The fight against the cigs is still going strong.
It's strange, in the mornings is a peice of cake now, and mornings makes me so happy I am not smoking, but after dinner, the cravings are very strong.

I just pretended to take a drag of a "virtuall cig I pretended to have in my hand, and I got a head rush, LOL

I also noticed that I'm starting to hack stuff upo all of a sudden, it's really gross, but i'm guessing this is the poison trying to get out.

Isnt this funny, I havnt told anyone I quit smoking, and my entire support group is from a bunch of people I've never met. hehe
You guys rule, thanks for the help and support.

I dip Copenhagen snuff and I've tried and tried to quit. But I keep going back doing it again, and again. Some people tell me it's harder to stop snuff dipping than it is to stop smoking. Do those patches or nicorette gum really work? I've been wanting to try that.

That is why I like this site so much. If there is a problem, someone here can help even though many of us have never met face to face. None of us want to see anything bad happen to any of the other members on here and will help all we can.

I've always found a cold bottled beer to be my close friend while I'm at the puter.
Keep up the good work, and keep giving us the daily reports. I don't smoke, but I do bite my finger nails, maybe I'll quit that just to be sympathetic to your cause. I know, small thing next to smoking, but a nasty habit just the same.
