Other people are affected by her choices in this matter. The father has a huge stake in what is decided. If he doesn't want the child and the woman decides to keep it, he is legally responsible to provide for it. Why is he not legally able to require a woman to have an abortion if he chooses? More than his body is on the line here. His dilemma is no less dramatic than hers. His life can just as easily be ruined as hers. It's just a silly argument.
I just knew someone would mention something I would have to comment on. I absolutely agree with you Odin’s Wrath. Which is it is NOT a women’s right to have total control over her body when it comes to a child. She shares that right with the father of the baby.

It takes two to make a baby and the decision should be made between the two people, not one having total control. However, if women vote to give the man a legal say in it then let men have the option to opt out, no support no nothing. If that were the case then fine it could be the women has total control over the decision.

That is fair and that is what women’s rights are all about right? Equality with men? I am sure you will have plenty chime in saying “well that’s not fair” I say sure it is, if the women can decide to abort a baby then the man should have the choice to support it or not.

Let me clear this up. When I say a man should have a choice as well I do NOT mean in rape, incest or the if the mothers life is in danger.

I would never choose that option because I have personal responsibility. However until men have a say as to weather “they” want to be responsible if a baby is aborted or not then a women should “never” have TOTAL say in it period. It may be “her” body but it is not “her” baby, it is hers and his as well as the responsibility of raising the child…

I will say this I absolutely disagree and think it should be illegal for anyone to use abortion as a form of birth control (also known as family planning). I knew a girl who did that 3 times. Absolutely sick and completely ill responsible, and that there in my opinion is murder in the first degree. All three times she did it in the third trimester.

Rape, incest and mothers life then I am ok with it and feel that is a personal choice among the immediate family so long as it is done in the first trimester and no later. Other then that it is not her choice alone, or at least it should not be…

Ahhh yes...I remember them doing this in bathrooms to lessen the mess...we called it the 'ol "gotta go & drop the kids off in the pool" method.

Now I believe they have progressed to a half glassful of draino...or is it liquid plumber (ironic eh?)....cant remember.

Ahhhh...unwanted pregnancies. A great science & anatomy lesson for our young people. Milton Bradley should come out with the "Early stage abortion kit game"....it would be kinda like "Operation"...BUZZZZZZZZ!!! "OOPS! hehe I punctured my uterus and hemmoraged to death...I lose a turn..."...

As long as we are all beating each other senseless with our opinions, I say its their bodies...if there is something inside of it they dont want in there...then they should have the right to say wether it stays or goes. But I seriously doubt any politicians worth their salt are roaming these boards so....I think Ill go to planned parenthood & stock up on "morning after" pills...ya never know when ya might need to toss one in her morning orange juice... Happy hunting all.....

No win, no lose, what's the difference. Kinda like kissin' your sister..... Oops!, that might have been what started part of this pointless discussion.

Yes, I remember the "coathanger" abortions. Desperate measures for desperate times. Seems like back then the law forced people to do what the law was trying to prevent in the first place. What's the difference, first or second tri-mester, or 18 or 25 years old?

Le Pew, bet you thought that "Youth in Asia" comment would slide by, eh. LMAO.

Okay, everyone get a good grip on your opinions/beliefs, and put this thread to rest.

Ah what a wonderfull talk show topic the irresponsible have created.

...sorry I just couldn't pass that up...

If people needed a license to produce kids ....... anyone wanna bet if that ever becomes a law it will be as screwed up as the drivers licenses are?

Yep...this is a no win debate for anyone. I don't
really feel anyone here could say anthing or make
any argument that would persuade anyone to
change their thinking. As for me...no, I don't believe
in abortion. I guess the bottom line for me is that
a life is being taken...period. To me it is the taking
of an innocent life...no different than if some idiot
walks into a convience store and kills someone
during a robbery. Both victims are equally dead, no
matter what the circumstances...no matter who is
at fault...no matter the reason. People who argue
that it is legal are correct...it is, but these same
people are quick to argue that many of the "blue
laws" on the books today in various states need
to be changed. Laws in our culture have come and
gone, and will continue to come and go long after we
have all bit the dust. Does that make any of the any
of them right or wrong? No, there are stupid laws
and in my opinion this is one of them. Any law that
says a human heartbeat can be stopped on purpose
for whatever reason is wrong. Many argue the "rapist"
argument or "terminally ill" consequences in an effort
to bolster the case for abortion. To me that "rapist's
child" or that diseased child is still a living being with
a heartbeat...and for any human to stop that heartbeat
is a crime. This is just my opinion and if yours if
different...more power to you. We are all adults (most
of us) and we are all aware of the differing opinions a
topic like this brings out. Let's all be respectful of those
varied opinions.

Excuse you. Although this subject is very controversial doesnt mean we sound like a bunch of school girls. We're all stating our opinion on this subject. There are only two answers to this "yes" or "no." I have chosen "yes" on this subject because this has affected my own personal life. I believe that in the very early stages of development that I should be allowed to be terminated, but after the fetus starts developing it should be a big no no. I'm not going to force you to listen to me, but before you start slinging words at us, who are actually being quite mature about this, just kindly check out another thread. Thank you.

Did I miss something...who is this *****? Oh, my
bad...he's NOT trying to be a *****. Easy mistake
for me to make given his less than mature and
eloquent post. If you are looking to find posts
about lift kits and superchargers, why not try
the forums for those topics? And if it sounds like
I'm being a sarcastic *****...you're spot on.
