08 6.4L Power Upgrades

How could someone get more power out of an 6.4L without adding programmers or chips?

It wont happen with out custom tuning. You gotta pay to play with these trucks.

Well that sucks. I'm only pulling 7,000 pounds with mine so I really don't need anymore power. Just thought it would be nice.

I don't do cold air in takes.... because really your not sucking in cold air. Your sucking in hot motor air.

Not on all of them. Get one with a sealed box around it and you'll get cold air. To be honest an intake and exhaust isn't going to give you much of an improvement in seat of the pants feel. It'll just help it spool up a little faster. If you're not putting a chip on it there really isn't anything you can do to make more power on a 6.4L. This isn't like the old 12V or 7.3L where you can turn a pump screw.

There aren't really any basic bolt-on's that will yield any noticeable power gains, tuning is the only way. Call Spartan Diesel technologies or innovative diesel performance they will point you in the right direction.

I agree, I put the Spartan on mine and it runs great. I dont see any downfall to running one.

why don't you want a programmer??? warranty

the spartan tuner is good but innovative diesel just tuned a 6.4 on stock injectors and turbo over 600hp

My truck has been out of warranty for the last 20K Miles.

The reason is cause I've had bad luck with those things. I had one on my F150 that made it shift like crap.

call Eric at innovative diesel he has the transmissions dialed in he's been tuning them for years on 6.0 and 6.4, i'm not real familiar with the f150 trans but i thought they had valve bodies the diesels have no valve bodies and are all electronic so it makes them tunable. 600hp at the wheels on tuning that would be cheap power probably put you at high 12's low 13's, but you also need to remove the DPF which will gain you around atleast 4mpg. I was a little off on the hp it was 628hp at the rear wheels

I sent them an email. And told them what I'd like the truck to do. Let's see what they come back with!

I am going with Innovative for the tunes for my 6.0 because of the good things I have heard about his tunes.
