What is my towing capacity?

I have a 2004 F250 SuperDuty Diesel. If I am calculating it right 9500 lbs? I would think it would be higher than this.

Thanks. I was wanting about a 38ft toyhauler with 2 slides, but the weight is going to be too much apparently for this truck. I guess I would have to buy a darn semi to pull it because the 350 is the same as the 250 from what I read. Oh well, guess I will continue to pull a trailer behind the motorhome. Thanks for the information.

Yep... I think people's rigs are becoming Semi's... anyhow.

I think it is a joke to own a F350... it's like driving a Mini Cooper around. What you need a real man's rig. You need a Peterbilt.

Next thing the Fed's and States will be doing will be allowing the general public to own a Tractor trailer with a few trailers... like owning a car or pickup truck. With no special endorsements on their licenses.

It's getting to the point now where people are towing EVERYTHING... why not just live out of your toyhauler.

I know that doesn't have much to do with the OP, but it sure feels like the truth lately.

No, but to get back to the OP... that must be a lot of weight... Is it over 15k?

OK, brain fart...............what is OP? But yes the toyhauler loaded with 2 bikes would be at least 15K or over.

Is it a 5th wheel or just regular towing? My 6.0 Extended Cab (373) can tow 12.5k or 17.5k on a 5th wheel. The 12.5k tow rating is due to the tow hitch.

I'm guessing the 38' might be a 5th wheel, which in that case you could probably tow with your truck, might need some air bags though.....

If its too much over 15k you need to invest in one of the new 450's. MPG sucks, but it can tow 20+k.......

This is a great site for determining what exactly your truck will tow:

http://changingears.com/rv-sec-calc-...eight-fw.shtml

They also have a calculator for determing a travel trailer and how to adjust your GVW for either of the above tests and one for liquid weights.

I am currently using it against numerous truck configurations before I have to buy.
