Question Sliding rear window option

I don't see any option for a solid rear window on the 250 or 350. Is there an aftermarket option or can you order one from Ford?
Thanks in advance.

gah: the solid rear window is standard. If you want the slider, it's optional.

another good option to get is: privacy glass. That's just tinted glass in the rear but it's much better than the non tinted ones.

I tried to look at EVERY option available before I ordered my truck and still I goofed up on the mirrors. Ended up having to order them seperate and have them installed.

Cool

Ba!!! Yep!! I had the reg mirrors because putting the truck into the garage is a major issue to me. Had to get the tow mirrors because we bought a travel trailer. I can still back the truck into the garage, but boy is it a tight fit. When I first got the tow mirrors installed, I would fold them in. But then I got braver!!!

Hey Gah,

The Super Duty comes with a Solid window standard, but you can order the slider. The catch is that you can not order the solid rear window with tint, the privacy glass comes with slider only. Hope this helps,

Thanks Sean, I guess I'll have to live with the slider because that privacy glass is REALLY nice. I saw it yesterday on an F-350 Crew Cab V10. I could always order a solid rear window from Ford after the fact. I hope that the solid glass has a factory tint.

Gah: I don't think there's any tint on the solid glass. At least there wasn't any on my friends truck. He found a local place and had tint put on.

Red face

Tina,
What is Ford thinking? I ordered my F-150 SC with a solid rear window and it has a very dark factory tint. It's hard to beat factory tints compared to aftermarket films. Oh well, I guess I'll have to live with a rattling, leaking slider, albeit nice and dark.

gah: the rattleing, leaking sliders are only on the F150's!!! The Superdutys are a completely different design. Get the slider!! The only real problem I've run across is that there is NO WAY to open it from the front seat. I have to stop the truck, get out, get into the rear seat and open or close it.

Tina,
That's good news. I've heard some worrying things about the F-150 sliders but I'm pleased to hear that the 250/350's don't have those problems.
There are some very nice aftermarket electric sliding windows. The ones that I've seen are about $200 and can be controlled from the front seat via a switch. That's what the new Sport Trac comes with... an electric slider in the back. It goes up and down like a regular window as opposed to left to right.

Just so everyone understands, the privacy glass is actual tinted glass not an added film. It will not scratch or peal like some tints do. Worth every penny.
